On my journey into work this morning, I came across a slightly humorous article about men and mobile phones phones…a study showed men who have flash phones believe they are more ‘appealing’ to the female counterpart than the average man. Now did we really need a study to tell us that?

Apparently men believe that having a gadget-laden handset helps make them more attractive to the opposite sex! In fact, not only this, but they also believe that a frequently ringing mobile phone, makes them look important and (get a load of this) popular! In a study at the University of Sheffield, men and women were observed in different social situations and it was found that men put their phones on show a great deal of the time when in public and used them as a vehicle to impress women, and show off to other men!

This bought a wry smile to my face. Obviously we can all picture the flash git, usually complete with sunglasses and suit, waving his phone around like he’s guiding in an aeroplane, but we all do it don’t we? Well I do anyway!

It’s not something I do deliberately, its something that just comes naturally… whenever I get my hands on a latest handset… I suddenly find it attached to my ear as I walk down the street… or out in my hand…. and I’m grinning my head off too! I don’t know why!

So, the big question is…which is the best phone for impressing the ladies (or men!)? Well the D&G Motorola Razr has got to be a strong contender but when it comes to flash b*stard handsets you can’t look beyond the Nokia 8800 Sirocco.

We all know it isn’t exactly feature packed, and yes, it’s a bit like carrying around a paperweight in your pocket, but how cool does it look? And the fact that you probably paid way over the odds for it means you clearly have more money than you know what to do with!

Sadly, this groundbreaking revelation has come just a little too late for me. That shiny ring on my finger’s a powerful thing!
