Mobile Phones don’t give you cancer!

Published December 6, 2006 by Dialaphone in News

A major study has dismissed the link between mobile phones and cancer.

There has never been conclusive evidence to suggest a link, but since phones do emit small amounts of radiation, and are held extremely close to the face, caution has always been urged over possible long-term dangers of mobile phone use.

Despite the huge amount of research completed over the years, the studies that warn of a health risk are actually rare, and have generally based their findings on the amount of radiation emitted by the old analogue phones, which is greater than that of modern digital handsets.

The largest and longest running study so far comes from the Danish Institute of Cancer Epidemiology in Copenhagen, who studied the mobile phone records and the subsequent instances of cancer of over 420,000 people. The research covered a 25 year period and included more than 55,000 people who had been using a mobile phone regularly for over 10 years.

“We were not able to identify any increased risks of any cancers that could be related to the use of the cellular phones”, said John Boice, a scientist who worked on the research. (3 mobile)

Good.

Glad to hear that i can stop worrying about getting cancer from my trusty RAZR, and can now concentrate solely on worrying about the poor ashes performance and the future of English cricket. Excellent post
