Zune mobile phone announced – Microsoft playing catch-up again

Published February 5, 2007 by Harriet Rhodes in Uncategorized

Whatever Steve Jobs does, Bill Gates just can’t resist from following. The Apple iPhone was only announced on the 9th January 2007 and already rumours have been leaked from Microsoft about the development of the Zune Mobile Phone. Its not the first time that rumours of a Zune phone have circulated but this time it seems that things are starting to happen.

The only details we have so far about the the Zune phone are:

  • It will be a smartphone that works homogeneously with the Zune marketplace.
  • It will run Windows Mobile.
  • The Zune interface will remain largely unchanged.
  • It will be able to sync with the Xbox 360 and stream video from the system to the phone via a wireless data connection.
  • It will be available for the ‘07 holiday season.
  • Once we know more we will let you know.

Oh, nice call here, Julian. With snarky comments like “playing catch up again” and “just can’t resist from following,” one would think you’d have secured a more reliable source.

OMG…another low quality product that has no history. That not how things should be built. How much development time went into this anyway? This looks about as well thought through as the Zune and Plays 4 Sure. BTW what ever happend to that n e wayz. No more development from the ones who started it…Watever.

“Zune Phone” doesn’t exist, officially, yet an outsourcer in the Philippines looks to be grabbing credit for testing a gadget that sure sounds like it.

I don’t think anything was actually “announced”.

I dont think it will work. Neither has enough memory to satisfy a music junkie, or those with less than deep wallets.
