Update: The Samsung F700 is now available for FREE from Vodafone, click here to buy online.
Samsung have become the latest mobile phone manufacturer to take on the iPhone, with the launch of the Ultra Smart F700.

This is the problem that Apple faces in the mobile industry. There are established companies out there that can do it better than them. You only have to look at the vital statistics to see that this is a better phone, end of story. It is almost identical in size to the iPhone but has a better camera, a more advanced touchscreen and a slide-out keyboard for greater flexibility in use.
Camera
The F700 has a five megapixel camera, iPhone has 2 megapixels. By the time the iPhone comes out, its camera will be dated. There are already very good 3 megapixel cameras that have been out for nearly a year, and the Nokia N95, due early March, has a five megapixel camera.

Touchscreen
Every new phone seems to have a touchscreen these days and the F700 is no different, except that its touchscreen features Samsung’s new VibeTonz technology, enabling the user to experience a huge range of “vibro-tactile sensations”, or in other words making it a phone you can feel as well as hear!
Keypad
There were initially rumours that the iPhone was to have a slide-out keypad – it doesn’t. The F700 does and is still only less than 5 millimeters thicker than the iPhone.

Currently (Dec 2007) the Samsung 700 is only available from Vodafone phones or Vodaphone as some people spell it.
Update: The Samsung F700 is now available for FREE from Vodafone, click here to buy online.
Mobile Phones UK have awarded the F700 4 stars in their Samsung F700 Review and Recommended Buys have also awarded the F700 4 stars in their Samsung F700 Review

i found this fone pretty hard o used like when i try to answer the fone calls it didnt answer i usally have to fone them bck :/
Jsut want to let you know I found this really interesting
LOVE IT
This is a really good phone for touch screen, as well as using the qwerty keyboard.
i would recomend this phone to be one of the best touch screen phones out. it has a good camera of 3 mega pixels, i will be honest its not a loud phone for music, as i had n95 , best music phone out!!! , but this is one of the best touch screen phones out at the moment!! i have been told by so many different phone shops that this phone is a hell of a lot better than the iphone , as i have been told that the iphone is now up for an update soon in 2009… since i have had my phone i have had no problems with it crashing,, software nothing at all!!!
superb phone !!
ive had the f700 from vodafone for about 7 months now and its a cracking phone! i had an iphone b4 and its the worst thing i ever bought. the screen burnt out in a month, so sent it back, recieved a new 1 and the battery was nackered and the button fell off. the iphone is total crap and a waste of time!!!!!
I think this phone is amazing
I want it for Christmas…
And the iphone is supposed to be a one button phone….and thats great for those people…but I dont like typing on a touch keyboard…but i like a touch screen…
And if you dont like the phone…DONT BUY IT……and you dont HAVE to use the keyboard…but I think its a great phone so
Peace.
Helllllooo..
I really really really want this phone
I totally agree with Cookie Monster ‘Ox, i think its a great phone and I cannot wait till i get one!
People are just being FUSSY…Not everything is perfect yano!

ive been wanting this Samsung F700 Croix for a while now, still waiting for it to come out on vodafone in australia. where ill get it unlocked and put on to optus.
This f700 shits on the iphone ! all my friends who have the iphone have hated it after a short period of time. The iphone was just the first of all touch screens, actually the PRADA was. Technology only gets better
and this one is BETTER face it all you iphone crazy lovers.
like GET OVER it !
i believe the iPhone is crap because when you are on the phone your cheek presses buttons and can end the call but on samsung F700 you can lock the screen while you talk then you press unlock and dis-connect.
whens it out, i want it
I have this phone and quite frankly it amazed me for about 2 hours…
although i keep finding new things on it that are very fun for that matter
but i am still going to get an iPhone as it has much more things better about it and quite frankly vodaphone is THE SHITEST network i have ever been on

thanks to Cookie Monster ‘Ox review (: helped me cuz im the same age + i’m looking for a new phone + i found this + fell in love with it
i dont get why everyones giving it a bad review when it looks amazing!
hi,
i think all in all the phone is a good 1 yeah the touch sometimes works and sometimes dont but sometimes thats a good thing specially wen u av got kids.
The thing that can be a problem when u open the keyboard and your kids get old of it u only have to press number 9 3 times and it automatically calls sos even if ya phone is locked my daughter has done this several times.
but like i said all in all a wicked phone
omg i ordered mine and it is being posted today but wont get it till monday .. damm soo excited!!! you cant compare the iphone and samsung f700 because they are different phones not ever by the same company i am getting mine on a genie sim pay as you go £10 credit then 300 free texts and 100 free minutes oh yeahhh
much love
the phone is bufftingaling
xx
I have this phone and to be honest i am not impressed. the touch screen is ‘touchy’ – sometimes it works and sometimes not. The memory is poor. and above all – i was informed that it had a 5mp camera. IT DOES NOT, it has a 3, which to be honest is not as good as my 3.2 on my old samsung d900.
Having said this, it beats my iphone hands down so i cant complain. Fantastic for playing videos and music. Shame there is no WIFI though!

Helloo..
Urmm..
Im Getting This Phone In A Couple Of Weeks For My Birthday.
I Orginally Wanted The Sidekick LX Or The Sidekick Slide, But Sadly Disapointed Me In The T-Mobile Shop.
I Then Did A Search For A Phone With A Keyboard And Came Up With This,
So I Popped Down To The Vodaphone Shop And Had A Touch And Look At It.
And OMG,
Its Good
Then I Had A 14 Day Trial And It Was Fabulous.
And..
I Dont See Why Everyone Is Giving It Bad Reviews,
Plus You Cant Compare It To The iPhone Because They’re Completely Differnt Phones.
And By The Way..
Vodaphone Didnt Advertise A Radio,
Orrr,
It Syncranising With Outlook.
Overall This Phone Is A Perfect Phone For Youngsters Like Me,
Considering In Only Fifteen Its Kinder Important I Get The Best “Stylish” Phone.
The Camera Is Quite Good But Its Not Supposed To Be For Taking Proper Pictures,
Its For Spur Of The Moment Pictures.
And The Music Player,
Is Fantastic
‘Ox
I think this a copy of LG prada.
raky u dont no wat u chating cuz thiz iz da best fone out it has all the latest technology so give up and get a life
what a fantastic comment from Raky. Well done, you’re a genius. if only I could fully decipher your garbled nonsense, we might get some way to figuring out what you mean…
anyway, I have an F700, and it’s fantastic. To the extent that a colleague who has an Iphone, and lauded it as being the best thing since the bread slicer, is now sending his back, due to poor camera, poor call quality, and generally poor everything. the F700 by comparison is faultless.
Come in Raky, your time is up.
if your dad buys this fone he is a complete idiot cus he has a small winnie and big nostrles this is because the designer of de fone was drunk and on crack wen he had desighn it. the b iuyers will da same. if i were buy the Nokia N810
thank you thank you people 4 reading and listening.
all the best in chosing
Raky
i realy want this phone but i want to know from some one is this phone good and what contract did you get on it beause i foun one for unlimited texts and 500 mins a month for £35.00 can you get better please tellme Jordan tar
Just brought this phone today ( 21/ 01 / 08 ) , and it is by far the best phone i have had , defo better than the iphone ! but like all touchscreen phones it is a bitch to keep clean with the figer prints , but it is a spectacular phone
this may not be the correct forum to ask this question, but is this phone intend to come out under tmobile, verizon, sprint, at&t?
I am extremely picky about my mobile phones. I only accept the best (in my opinion). I was curious about the samsung F700 and after reading very many reviews, I ordered it from vodafone on a £40 12 MONTH contract.
The touch screen is excellent with the screen gently vibrating to aknowledge each touch.
The slide is good and the QWERTY keyboard and bottons are fine. However, I think the keys are JUST big enough and maybe a problem to those with larger hands.
The interface is perfectly easy to use yet, for want of a better word, BORING. It is in black and white (which cannot be customised). Basic in all areas.
It has all the multimedia components that a phone needs- calculator, alarm, convertor, world clock, voice recorder etc.
The sound quality is good, not amazing, but good. there is a speaker phone function but to use it during a call you need to push the unlock button then accept the call which is a little annoying to say the least.
CAMERA is the biggest disapointment. 3 MP is not the same standard as most 3 MPs currently available. The so called “flash” is merely and light that comes on stays on until the picture is taken, to littlle affect. Plus, you have to hold down the camera key a good 5/6 seconds before it actually puts the wretched light on then another second or two to take the actual photo. NOT GOOD.
CONCLUSION
If you are not a phone fenatic, dont mind the quality of pictures, are not a huge texter and have a little patience then this phone is a great choice and stae of the art as far as touchsceen technology is concerned. Otherwise, I would think of the Sonty Ericsson K850i/ Nokia N95.
My F700 arrived yesterday. The internet didn’t work and vodafone suggested I send it back. The touchscreen technology doesn’t seem very precise and my fingers aren’t exactly huge. Also I don’t know if my phone is ‘faulty’, I’m assuming not, but when the phone is unlocked and the screen is blank, touching the screen doesn’t ‘wake up’ the phone. The only way to get the phone to respond is to press the shortcut key. If that’s normal operation, then I don’t call this a ‘touchscreen’ phone. My 4 year old windows mobile PDA works better than this, and has a slide out keyboard too!
have a Samsung SGH-U600..have installed Samsung studio to upload pics to pc…worked initially but now wont synchronise( though it says ‘Synchronised’) and keeps asking me to install outlook express which is ALREADY IN IT…I deleted it from PC…re-installed it during which it installed a mass of up-dates but still no sync to the photos and still asking to install outlook express…..confused….any ideas….thanks.
I’m quite frustrated at the comparison people keep making to the iphone – people seem to have completely forgotten that the iphone will cost them £269 – for the smallest capacity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLUS a £35 a month contract. These prices are ridiculous!!! The F700 is FREE, I repeat FREE and you can get it free on a much cheaper contract too. How can you possibly compare???? When (and if) the iphone comes down in price, then you can compare fairly, but by the time the iphone comes down in price samsung will probably have brought out another improved phone by then anyway.
Don’t get me wrong I think the iphone is great but not great enough to warrant me taking out a second mortgage and selling my children to afford one – in this respect the samsung MUST be the more sensible option – unless you’ve just got money to burn – which I’m afraid most people don’t!
Peace out
This phone is sickmade still x
Got one on these on an upgrade from Voda – but find that it won’t sync with outlook – just get a “syncronisation failed” error message. Have tried both a laptop and desk top and had same probs with both (both on XP and Outlook 2002 sp3).
Vodaphone say cant help, “try Samsung” (0870 number…) and Samsung say they know there are a few problems but its “rare”, and/but they are planning on an update for PC studio, but dont know when and anyway problem might be Voda’s firmware…… Good, huh?
In short none of then are prepared to do anything about it… Not impressed with a phone that from two major companies that cant do the basics and which they won’t sort out. Camera’s rubbish (appears to have no anti shake), and the modem wont work either…..
So would strongly recommend against this phone and Voda/Samsung generally….. Pity because the screen &qwerty kbd are great, but as package it appears virtually useless and support is non-existent.
Has anyone else had this problem, or found a solution (otherwise it’s going back)?
hello there does anyone know how to unlock this samsunf f700v – desperate to use on 3 network help would be much appreciated
i love everything about samsung f700 i wish we have it here in the Philippines!!!!
F700 is a bit of a dissapointment. Please see below for my pro’s and con’s list (so far)
Pro.
nice big touchscreen.
3.6Mbps connectivity.
Camera is ok but i always seem to get really dark pictures (but i am no david bailey).
qwerty keyboard, however i hardly use it as the onscreen keyboard is ok (see con’s).
Looks nice and feels nice and solid to hold.
Nice security where you can lock individual features such as files, internet etc.(see con’s).
Cons.
100mb memory get real samsung.
the hold button is rubbish, its such a drag to keep flicking it on and off (iphone slider lock is the way to go here).
The way the phone keeps locking the touchscreen when in a call is rubbish, makkes you wanna throw the phone off the wall. Proximity sensor (iphone again) would have solved this problem.
The phone dont auto switch to landscape when you turn the phone, only does it on video and if you open keyboard. (again iphone works a treat here).
MP3 player is pants, how can Samsung come up with such a poor interface given a big touchscreen. I really cant understand why this is so poor. The big screen is completely wasted here. The next/previous track swipe feature is poor as only works in a certain area of screen. The sound is very poor out of the speaker and also the output level is very low from the headphone socket.
I have yet to play a video fullscreen as i think the video has to be in the exact pixel size, it dont stretch or do anything clever.
The lack of user customisation is rubbish.
If you lock the files with a password you cant play any MP3 without putting in password. Filles and MP3 should be seperate so no need for password.
When using the on screen keyboard very often it lags behind dreadfully. You can press 6 keys and nothing then all of a sudden the screen fills with the selected characters, thus making it very awkward to text and type smoothly or quickly.
The Vodafone manual is a joke, very poor.
I dont believe that you will be able to run 3rd party applications on this phone.
I am sure there are many more cons but i have to go out right now.
if nokia put a big touchscreen on the N95 it would be a killer phone.
I only got this as i really wanted to experience a touchscreen.
Get the phone and play with it under Vodafone s 14 day offer.
Mine is out of the 14 days but i may try to send it back.
if you have tried the iphone, you will be very dissapointed in the samsung interface.
yeah i know its free but i am know counting down the 18 months til i can upgrade again.
if the iphone had never appeared and this was first touchscreen out you think it was the dogs bollocks, but it’s simply not.
On my second F700V from Vodafone now. First one lasted 1.5 days, wouldn’t charge. Must have been a friday afternoon special. Second one no problems at all. Interface is slick(greasy paws aside), battery performance seems ok (on a par with my old XDA Exec on standard battery). Mp3 player OK – looked at iphone, but not coughing up £280 plus contract for one, so F70 will do nicely here.
To be fair to the F700V, I’m biased to my upgraded XDA Exec running Mobile 6 and with the extended battery. Everything is compared to that, and to be honest, there isn’t another phone on the market that comes close to the HTC Universal. It may be clunky on Windows mobile 5 5(or 6 with upgraded ROM), weigh the same as a house brick, but it really is the daddy with inbuilt WI-FI and ability to run TomTom with additional GPS on bluetooth. The ability to run 3rd party apps is also a must, but to be fair, its early days for the F700.
In conclusion, love the F700V so far, nice and easy to use, stylish, good simple mp3 player, and absolutely love the camera. Pnly problem is that its not an HTC Universal!
shut up.k800i easy
k800i is the bst . so u hv to get 1
i have both the samsung f700 and an i pod touch, the samsung has pretty basic music functions and the touch screen and indeed quality doesnt compare with my i pod touch and the iphone (i have used a friends i phone). but at the end of the day all i want to be able to do is play my albums on the move without the need of a seperate Mp3 player. The samsung f700 was free as an upgrade……the iphone is 280 quid, the mp3 playing aspect of the iphone is better………..but not 280 quids worth!!
I persevered with this phone but in the end it goes back for the following reasons:-
• It’s slippery and I was in constant fear of dropping it.
• To answer an incoming call you have to unlock using the slide button, then press the soft key before pressing the accept button on the touch screen
• It would not synchronise with outlook. I contacted Vodafone who suggested speaking direct to Samsung. The answer they gave was that Samsung phones would not synchronise with Outlook 2003.
• Vodafone advertised it with a radio – it hasn’t got one.
• The touch screen was dependant on the moisture on my fingers e.g. when dry I was having to repeat the touch and when damp it was really sensitive to the point that if you accidentally brushed elsewhere the touch screen would activate. This is a big mobile and could probably benefit from a stylus.
• Sound quality of calls was poor
The positives were:-
• The slide out keyboard was easy to use for texting
• The music player was fun although I had it on shuffle but it didn’t appear to be shuffling
• The camera was of good quality
I was looking forward to owning this phone but it was a big disappointment.
omg this phone is so cool but can any1 who got this phone tel me if its beter thn the iphone is it realy good?
ive ordered it anyway and carn wait 2 have it i hope i like it i think i wil i love touch screen phones and also the keyboard wil be helpful with txts and emails
Just got this phone & couldn’t be happier with it! Looks much better than in the photos and the keyboard is great. Touch screen takes a bit of getting used to however the vibration feedback is a great feature. I did receive the bose headphones with the phone which im currently using on my ipod. I haven’t ever really used high-end earphones so dont have much to compare them with but the sound quality is noticeably better than the supplied samsung and apple ipod ones. Phone also came with a 1gb micro sd card which was an unexpected surprise! Would definably recommend this phone great value, and although lacking a multi touch interface great alternative to the iphone – better camera, better value and the keyboard makes it practical enough for every day use.
Vodafone had a problem with the ordering system where it didn’t pickup the Bose headphone part of the order. If you call 191 and explain that you haven’t received the headphones they’ll get them out to you straight away (mine should be here tomorrow).
Forgot to say the headphones in the box are samsung and not bose…
Just got it and its on the long charge. The vodafone store I got mine from said the bose headphones have not been delivered yet so I got the sales guy to put a note on their system and also advised him I will go back with my receipt to collect them when they are in store…hopefully soon.
i really lyk samsung fones but was very disapointed with the u700…
which is surposed to be a relli gd phone!!!
it relli put me of smasungs…
this looks lyk a relli nice phone but i dont know if it goin to work as well as wanted.
Vodafone rang me back on saturday and said they are in, got mine order, i was told i should expect mine on tuesday! cant wait
hi, got this phone on fri. has anyone else got this phone cos i want to ask them about the free bose headphones which are supplied with this phone. all i got in my box with headphones with samsung on.
if anyone can help me on this issue i would be very grateful.
Paul.

I called vodaphone 2day 2 ask when it is realesed as my upgrade is wayyyyy overdue…and im grining coz they had just recived confermation of realese wen i rang so mine is gona be here by tuesday wohoooo xx
hi i have got the new samsung f700 today. first impressions is that its a good phone!
if any one else has one did you get the free bose headphones in the box?? and if so does it have bose on or samsung on them
I’m trying to get one shipped to me for tomorrow, but have been told it depends when it actually arrives at the distribution centre. I don’t hold out much hope after hearing about the Lewis Hamilton unveiling on Monday, still Tuesday’s not far away! I believe the official launch date is December 3rd.
I also read on another comments thread that someone has one already, and it does have wireless! I don’t believe this.
I’m just about to pop into town to get mine, can’t wait!! i don’t understand why it’s not being relased the same time everywhere though! x
When will PAYT come out?
Its out tomorrow.. wooohooooooo.. cant wait.. got mine ordered.. Vodafone southampton are saying 30th Nov, but the one in Reading reckon 3rd Dec.. oh well lets hope Southampton are correct.
it’s 3mp of camera. this is what it says at the back of the actual phone need the camera.
According to The Guardian, Lewis Hamilton is being given one of these phones on 3rd December in a grand unveiling in the centre of London.
As McLaren Mercedes’ main sponsor is Vodafone and Lewis is now the face of Vodafone, I would be very suprised if anyone gets their hands on it before him!
How come vodafone have told me it is due out on the 3rd dec. howcome your getting it on the 30th???
Also can anyone clear up the camera is it 5mp or 3mp not vodafone website under coming soon phones it says 3mp on the phone but in the text it says 5mp. Which is true??
WATCH ME CRANK DAT SOULJA BOY…YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU…….ALL OF U PPZ ARE WRONG….FORGET ALL DIS NEW SHIT WE NEED TO GO BAK TO OLD SKOOL….NOKIA 3210 YES YES NOW SIP SUMIN BEEEYATCHHHHHHHHHHHH………P.S. SIPPIN ON SUM SIZZURP SIPP SIPP SIPP SIPPIN ON SUM SIZZURP
the F700 is out on Friday 30th November
because im getting it them
only on Vodafone
Why does the picture of the samsung f700 show that the camera is a 3megapixel camera when its been advertised as a 5megapixel camera this is false advertising is’nt it?
“Thank you for contacting Vodafone Customer Services about the launched date for the phone Samsung F700.
I’ve had a look at our stock report and can see that the phone Samsung F700 will be available with us from 3rd December 2007.”
That was the reply from vodafone when i asked the release date for fone!
Of all the reviews of the iPhone, NONE have mentioned the calculator function, am I the only one which knows this?
It doesn’t work like a normal desktop or hand phone calculator does, it calculates in Polish notation, same as a Exel spreadsheet.
For example, if you enter 165+33/33= on a desktop, the answer is 6
on the iPhone the answer is 166?
So when you are adding all your finances and at the end divide it by say 3 months, to see what you have each month, you will be a)surprised, and b)confused.
try it?
Nokia, I feel, is letting itself down in a number of ways but my primary gripe (especially with their “top end” phones) is with their build quality. My N80, for example, is now on it’s last legs after 16 months of use (I’m not a heavy user by any stretch of the imagination btw) but the Samsung I gave to my mother when I changed contract (making that D600 nearly 3 years old) is still absolutely perfect; aside from a little paint wear, it performs as well as it did the day it rolled off the production line.
As far as the iPhone goes, sure it’s a nice looking piece of kit, but I’ve yet to hear of anyone that’s bought it because of what it can do; people are buying it because it’s an iPhone. Let’s face it, Apple are extremely good at marketing and this is proven by the fact that the iPhone is, technologically speaking, pretty stunted. Sure, they make the excuse that there’s no 3G so they can minimise power consumption, but then they have to when they’ve prevented you from replacing the battery yourself and it will only take 300 charges!!!
Can’t wait for my contract to end so I can go back to Sumsung. F700 or G800, I’m looking forward to a well built phone with quick software, plenty of bells and whistles that will at least outlast the contract I’m on.
Got tired of waiting and rang Vodafone. They have the phone but are not releasing it until December 3rd so that it can include ‘Musicstation’ which is their attempt at a music subscription service.
Well its the 19th of November, the Samsung f700 still hasn’t been released!, is the camera on this phone 3 or 5 mega pixel, because on the vodafone website it has pictures on the phone but its says 3mp on the phone.
the f700 is due out the 18th of novemer exclusive to vodadfone
I think the best PDA phone out there is the xda orbit with its built in gps, but the i phone is good dont get me wrong, just got the nokia e90, a demanding phone but it too big,
The new nokia n95 8gb is a very good phone a demanding phone in the market that has taken iphone for its money.
please see all the review of it and you will find your answer
Bye for now
F700 will be out on the 3rd of December…not 16th. Confirmed when I called for upgrade.
Confirmed for the 16th.
I’ve just rung Voda to cancel my contract, but they’ve offered me a free F700
I have been told by vodafone the f700 will be available from the 16 November 2007 and has been advertised in the sun tv mag 3-9 Nov 2007
and to top it all off i’ve just been on the official samsung website and the camera is a 3mp and not as many people have said a 5mp
just a quick question peeps i’ve read all the comments and just one thing comes to mind one of the phones is coming out on friday and the other so far has no release date and possibly wont have a release date so arguing over which one is better might not matter a crap if only one phone is in circulation that said however i’d love to own the samsung
Well I’m starting to doubt this phone is ever going to see the light of day which is a shame cause it would have walked over the competition (if everything was done well & it worked), I’ve seen a few Samsunf new releases that never appeared.
But I still won’t be buying an iphone i can tell you that for nothing!
It looks ok, pretty much like every other generic smartphone out there. The fact tht samsung are being very cagy about letting journos actually use it hints pretty strongly that thier touch interface sucks more than a grandad with a bag of werthers originals.
All these companies claiming the iPhone copied them is just jealous, just like Creative Labs and their lawsuit. If Apple copied Creative’s interface then how come Apple’s iPod interface is very usable and awesome and Creative’s is crap?
Same here.. Why does the LG Prada look like all external design with a s***** interface, same with this Samsung piece of crap.. Is it even multi-touch?
I mean it’s not worth doing a full screen touch screen if it can’t be multi touch, that’s just mad inferior right there, because afaik pin pads at stores have been using touch screens for years.
i think the iphone is s*** because it has no 3g,insatant messaging and no video recording
Have just seen a couple of US sites quoting that the F700 will be available 25th/29th August! (Let’s just hope that’s not 2008 and that it’ll be the same for the UK release)
wat are people chatin about? i have an iphone…
its awesome…
and people get ur facts right lol it has 4 buttons :S…
bye bye
Try and find the same comment on other posts you won’t. I didn’t go through much work at all, copy/paste send.. and it’s not 5 month old stories.. All the sources I got (as stated) were from posts released AFTER the iphone release.. 5 months old? what are you smoking? Sure as hell ain’t legal.. I’m sure you enjoy trying to discredit me, but the fact of the matter is you won’t. These posts were all found the monday AFTER the big friday iphone release. If I decided to really go through and “work” at finding ways to discredit the phone, I would probably end up getting paid by cnet or something.. and frankly I don’t need the money.. Enjoy your iphone.. oh yeah.. don’t forget to get the iphone nano.. coming out in the next 6 months.. oh yeah and don’t forget to get your special edition U2 iphone with the signature from Bono and a tree to plant for an extra $500 next year! (hopefully they will address the issues they have now). And that battery problem.. every year… sending your iphone back to apple and paying them to get it swapped out? Don’t worry they will send you a loaner iphone for the two weeks you have to wait..
My personal iphone opinion is:
This is a really cool ipod with phone capabilities.. honestly if they stuck with this theme for the ipod, minus the phone capabilities, i would buy it.. but not for a phone.. as a really cool ipod, sure.
D1zzl3, wtf dude. You find a 5 month old story to post cons to the iPhone. That is the lamest thing I have ever seen. I am sure that if I looked at other stories, I will find the same list on other comment sections. Anyone who goes to so much work to try to discredit a phone…
Does anyone know when this is going to be released in the U.S.?
I have both a Samsung D900 phone (which already has a 3mp cam) and a YP-Z5 mp3 player. I refused to buy an iPod when they came out because I knew it was a matter of time before THE electronic giant out did them. My silver Z5 looks better, plays longer (38 hrs.) and best of all I don’t have to deal with shitty iTunes. Samsung seems to focus on the things that matter most (Fuction). As for style these phones look exactly the same except for a few coloured icons Whoopi! For the people who know whats up we’ll be surfing the net, while your pretty lil’ iPhones are plugged into the wall. I’d love to take a pic of your face with my 5mp cam after you realize that you just bought an overpriced, overhyped piece of crap. The iPhone was outdated last year, maybe they’ll get it right with the iPhone Nano. Personally I think they should stick to computers, they’re no match for SAMSUNG.
Most of these comments about how each phone will perform cracks me up, how do you know? one has just been released and the other is still to be relased. Both phones look good and will probably perform good. It’s a personal chioce when all is said and done. I will go for the Samsung because looking at it’s spec it will do what I want it to do and being a satisfied Samsug user I know I will get a well built and reliable product. I did fancy the Nokia N95 but I have had reliability problems with Nokia smartphones that’s why I changed to Samsung just love the way they do things. Anyone any idea when the F700 may be available on Orange?
To Olena: I hope you weren’t referring to me, if you are, show me where I mis-used the word “whole for hole”
To everone else, I have a list of pro’s and con’s of the iphone, the pro’s we all know, here come the cons (this is post iphone release)
Cons:
1. The OS that the iPhone uses, takes up 700MB of the device’s capacity
2. Cut, copy, and paste do not exist
3. No A2DP support; being High-tech multimedia device and considering the fact that most mobile devices support this natively
4. You can not use music as ring tones
5. No support for document file editing on PDF, Word and Excel documents
6. Adobe Flash support exists but not in the safari web browser and there is no support for any kind of embedded video
7. The camera does not record videos
8. No MMS (the ability to send photos, ring tones, attachments, audio, video and any multimedia along with a text message)
9. No voice dialing
10. Contact groups can’t be emailed as contact lists
11. According to apple after 300-400 charges the battery will lose capacity, but you can send it in and get a new one for a fee
12. It can take you up to 6 steps to make a phone call, 4 being the bare minimum in 9 out of 10 cases (more if the number you are dialing is not a favorite or contact)
13. Storage is not upgradeable
14. Call quality was the worst we’ve heard on a high-end device in years (“PC-Magazine”, not fault of AT&T network, their blackberry curve phones were tested alongside the iphone, no problems with them in the same location)
15. Reception leaves something to be desired
16. Complicated to dial
17. Difficult to send text messages on (due to on screen keyboard)
18. Missing all sorts of features that are basically assumed to be in most high-end multimedia phones nowadays
19. Some websites are off-limits, or limited due to lack of or no support for Javascript, Java, Flash, streaming media and all other multimedia web plug-ins
20. Built-in speaker quality is lousy
21. Recessed headphone jack for proprietary iPhone only headphones
22. Plans from $59.99/month to $219.99/month (very expensive) tied to itunes account
23. When syncing phone; all settings and files are wiped if syncing with a different computer other then the one the phone was setup with
24. No support for: MIDI ringtone OGG and WMA audio formats
25. No support for: XVID, DIVX, or WMV video formats (files people will have to rip their videos for iTunes)
26. No support for: RAW photo formats
27. No ability to store videos
28. The ear piece volume is low and the speaker phone volume is very quiet
29. Voices through the ear piece are a bit muffled, but comprehensible during tests
30. Transmission is vile during tests
31. Tested and received static as well as in-ear feedback
32. Calls made with the iPhone sounded hideously compressed on the other end during tests
33. Two dropped calls, and significant audio wobble during tests
34. Tested in a weak signal area against a BlackBerry Curve; the iPhone couldn’t connect two out of three calls, where the Curve could connect all three
35. Stuck with Apple’s 25 ring tones, no way to construct, download, or even buy new tones
36. Vibrate mode very weak
37. iPhone camera has no options; There’s no white balance, scene modes, burst mode, auto-focus, video recording, multiple resolutions or compression levels
38. The virtual keys on the virtual keyboard are just too small to hit easily and accurately
39. No support for bluetooth keyboards or any bluetooth devices that are not headset related (yet)
40. Will not open emailed Excel charts, very large documents, PowerPoint, music or video file attachments
41. Can not save email attachments
42. No drag and drop functionality
43. No playlist creation functionality (unless loaded previously through itunes)
44. Internet speeds are only 2 Mbp/s slightly slower then the new RAZRs (totally undesirable speed wise)
45. Lack of enterprise support (meaning lack of ability to install third party software and tools)
46. iPhone keyboard can only be used in landscape mode when using safari, when typing emails, SMS, or any other active widget, the keyboard only functions in portrait mode which makes it smaller and harder to use
47. No zoom feature for camera
48. Delay when taking picture (a second or two after clicking the snapshot button)
49. No flash for camera, requires ambient light for better quality pictures
50. Lack of commenting ability on youtube widget
51. Lack of GPS for google maps (may be asking a bit much and may change in the future, but why not?)
52. PDF, Word and Excel documents cannot be viewed in landscape mode
53. Lacks stereo audio (even in bluetooth)
There you have it, this data was collected from three seperate non-biased magazine/review site’s (PCWORLD, ZDNET, Engadget) and one blog from an apple fanboy blogger (even the fanboys are finding problems).
BTW.. very good point above with “Pretty doesnt always mean better” you can thank Bill Gates with that for releasing Vista.. Vista is the complete opposite.. or atleast so far..
And yes.. how does the battery compare samsung vs iphone. Right now I have an samsung d600, and the thing lasts me forever.. Now at one point I had a windows mobile phone (the o2 exec) and that lasted maybe 2-3 hours.. which sucked.. and somewhat defeated the purpose of using it as a phone.. but as far as functionality it was packed.. Now being that the iphone is running a mobile version of mac osx, you can only assume the battery will probably not be as good as the samsung.. another reason why pretty isn’t always good.. pretty draws a pretty amount of battery.
This is definitly a change for apple, and macs are decent systems in that their not as vulnerable as Windows.. but lets get back to the point.. this is a new start for apple. Samsung has been out with phones for a LONG time, and I never had any issues with any of their phones. Their unique, easy to use, have great functionality.. what more can you ask for?
The iphone looks cool sure ill give it that, but its nothing more than a reproduction of a new generation ipod video.. honestly.. So you can listen to music.. ok big deal.. I work as an IT repairing different things, and We must have ATLEAST 3 ipods come in per day with some sort of defect. Lord know if people have so many problems with ipod’s that there will be similar issues with this phone.
You call the phone ugly.. if anything its got a more sleek design and unique look than the iphone. THe iphone also comes in 1 color last I heard (black).. so how is it any less boring?
The gui on the samsung looks nice. I mean sure its not running a mobile os.. but in all honesty who cares..
The keypad.. also a huge plus.. instead of tapping letters, you have the functionality of using a qwerty keyboard.. how does that make the phone bad in anyway.. its alot easier to use.. Sure the menu is a bit different than most other phones, but its nothing that a user cant adjust to. Its a matter of playing around with it.. Besides whenever you get a new phone you always look through the menu to figure out what feature is where… And the 5 mp camera.. guys thats HUGE.. I can guarentee that will come in more handy than your little music media player. I mean take for example you goto a concert right. And they dont let you in with your camera. ok.. well they cant stop you from bringing in your phone.. and here in your pocket you have a piece of equipment with unbelievable picture resolution.
If you want to use the iphone just for the media player.. well hell.. the samsung is expandable. you can add more memory to it and put on a good chunk of songs on there too for your entertainment purposes..
The only reason people may thing the iphone is more “user friendly” is because ipods have been around for a few years.. and as I mentioned above. this phone is nothing more than an ipod with a phone built in…(new generation ipod)..
Samsung has all these capabilities + more..
And as mentioned above.. iTunes is nothing but trouble.. you can’t sync songs from multiple pc’s if you want to.. I can guarentee that the samsung wont have that kind of limitation when transferring songs. Ive been a samsung user for 10 years now, and I cant say I have ever been unhappy with any of their products.
i wish people knew the difference between ‘hole’ and ‘whole’.
idiot.
samsnug is the best . sony is a trash
Oh yeah, and ITUNES IS GARBAGE
To Chris: seems damn friendly to me, that and have you seen how comfortably it fits in your hand? problem with smartphones is they always seem big and bulky, this one (pictures all over of it being held) seems to fit just fine and is smaller.
To Vincent: You are a moron, there are 8 gig cards now for expandability on phones, keep up with technology, and vibetonz is not the main benefit of this phone. The iphone will have many problems with it’s interface for a good majority of users, as an ITS worker, the dumbest people in the world (a good majority of our earthly population) can make the most simplest things seem impossible for them to use.
To the others complaining about the UI: So pretty icons and colors make things better? Have any of you actually seen Vista? Pretty isn’t better. It’s about functionality and actual ability of the phone. If you think this phone is going to be hard to use, then don’t get it. Those type of people are the same ones that could barely work the old flip phones. People who are smart enough will realize the true abilities and functionalities of this phone and see how well it can be integrated into their every day lives, especially from a professional standpoint. The iPhone is another gimmick, that the average Joe Schmo thinks is “cool”, yeah it’s pretty that doesn’t speak for the above average people. The battery (even expanded) will still be drained way to fast when using it in real world scenarios for one thing. The other, 8 gigs is too small for me and most other people, that’s why the everyone already owns an ipod, completely killing the audio aspect of that device. People will have problems with the on-screen keyboard because not everyone’s finger is slender enough to hit each key correctly. Hell, most people can’t even use standard/laptop keyboards as it is. So you have internet browsing on it? So does every other device, including the Samsung. The internet speeds on the iPhone are just too slow, and the samsung phone will allow for 8 gig cards now, as well as bigger cards created in the future, so you don’t need to get another “version” while apple will laugh to the bank, releasing a version 2.0 with a different color casing and double the size. Then version 3.0 with 20 gigs, and some stupid band’s signature all over it for the special edition model, as all of you will scramble to upgrade every 6 months.
Have you not noticed that the phone will still cost 499 (and 599) even with a new plan? Not including AT&T’s already hefty monthly plans, the new iphone designed plans start at 400 minutes, unlimited net and 200 sms messages for what? 70 a month? my little sister will send more sms messages in a day then what’s being covered. Money to ME is not an issue, I have enough to buy as many of these as I want, but when it comes to functionality and being unique, the samsung F700 is the way to go. And from a completely technical standpoint, the hardware packed into this phone outdoes the iphone with room to spare.
So to iterate (btw re-iterate actually means to re re-explain something), the camera is dwarfed, the size is totally beat (due to every 6 months the size of mem cards for the f700 doubling, where the iphone won’t unless you buy a whole new phone), the speeds are totally beat internet wise. The cost of the devices pound for pound the f700 wins. Keyboard wise, you can use the touchscreen and use a separate keyboard if you want, iphone doesn’t see that one. As for the music and video portion, it all comes down to the samsung phone doing what the iphone does with expandable memory, same video and audio (what about your precious ipods now people? you going to carry both around? or just drain your phone battery listening to music?) capabilities, as well as video conferencing with 2 cameras (didn’t see that part yet did u folks?), iphone is beat. There are a lot more argumentative points, but I just don’t have the time to tutor every mindless person who falls for any gimmick that deems something pretty is better then what the device can actually do.
its a touchscreen with 2MPx.accelerometer?are you going to spend all day rotating your phone? it lacks a card slot, Java (possibly Flash), 3G, games, speed dial features.ur paying 499-599$ with 2yr contract! Apple has no experience in the phone industry.u have to use iTunes for loading music and video.u cant use a stylus or gloves or anything other than your fingers when you touch it. it does not sync using WiFi or bluetooth.virtual keys make it slower to use than a Blackberry.
iPhone does not have Java, might not have Flash. has a worse camera, does not have a keyboard, is slower, and lacks videocall
on the other hand iPhone has a more colorful display, and more memory. thats it so f700 is better. admit it!
this might not beat the iphone (accorind to some) but HTC advantage x7500 or HTC shift definitely does. face it the iphone has a prety good memory and a good touch mechanizm but thats it there certainly is better.
I think the battle between these two phones will come down to how good the OS is. Samsung’s offering has really caught my interest. But so did the iphone.
My biggest gripe with apple products is that technologically speaking they are never really any better. They are just perceived as though they are. Apple have got an amazing marketing department which has got people lusting after apple rather than products. Fair play to them they deserve their success. I find it odd that you would doubt product road testing by employees of a company. Debugging must occur before market. That can’t be done in a lab environment as easily as it can through everyday use.
I also find it odd that anyone would accept the word of a carphone warehouse employee as gospel without trying to verify it. I’ve worked in retail and trust me that sales people talk the most sh*t out of anyone I’ve ever met. I wouldn’t trust their word on something they are fairly unlikely to have had confirmation of.
Anyway I digress.
I’ll plump for the F700 over the iphone. The camera has got me hooked. Everything else is bonus on top of that.
The iphone doesn’t offer enough of an improvement over my current phone
ive had a samsung phone all my life and have never had a problem with them. they are actually the most easy to use mobiles i have ever tried, which explains why i have never had a nokia or some such phone, oh and by the way, how the hell would anyone know whether a phone is hard to use by just looking at it.
the people who get all defensive over the iphone are quite obviously apple customers and are so single minded that they havent tried any other type of product. your all just sticking to what you know because its the most popular and its the seen thing to have. dont just diss a phone that has the same concept as the iphone, just because its isnt the iphone, thats just stupid, surely usability etc of something rules over how something looks? and i heard the samsung is pretty good
haha good point, isnt this phone 6 months overdue?
i went into carphone warehouse (uk) today and was told that samsung will NOT be releasing the f700.
the manager of the store said that samsung often show off a good phone then never go through with manufacturing it.
looks like iphone wins then, if that ever turns up.
You tried it out? yeah course you have lmfao! Samsung will just let its employees take phones home that are not even on the market wont they.
As for the phone its self i do really want one and prehaps jeni,s UNCLE could give us an exact release date and price ? Being as though he works for Samsung.
1st of all I like the Samsung as soon I read about this Phone would be released sometime this year I knew I had to put my hands on one of this, forget the Iphone instantly, all THIS GUYS ARE SAYING WRONG STUFF ABOUT THE SAMSUNG DON`T THEY THINK THIS IS WHY THE PHONE IS NOT EVEN RELEASED YET, BY NOW SAMSUNG HAVE READ SO MANY GOOD AND BAD REVIEWS ABOUT THE PHONE SO THEY CAN CHANGED THE MOST FEATURES THAT PPL ARE MOANING ABOUT.
AND THAT IS WHY THE PHONE NOT EVEN OUT YET, C`MON GUYS LETS FACE IT SAMSUNG MAKE LCD PANEL AND THEY HAVE PROVEN THAT SINCE THE DAY THEY 1ST BUILT A PHONE. WHY DON`T WE ALL WAIT TO SEE WHICH OF THEM PEOPLE WILL BY THE MOST, OBVIOUSLY ITS THE SAMSUNG BECAUSE THE IPHONE WILL NOT BE LESS THEN 400POUNDS FOR THE 1ST FEW MONTHS.
BRING ON THE Samsung F700
THIS IS THE BEST PHONE EVER, MY UNCLE WORKS FOR SAMSUNG AND I HAVE TRIED THE PHONE OUT AND THE FEATURES ARE THE BEST YET !! I HAVE ALREADY ORDERED THIS PHONE AND AM GETTING IT LATER THIS YEAR !! I WILL NEVER BUY THE IPHONE BECAUSE I FEEL THAT THIS PHONE HAS MORE TO OFFER
PEOPLE WHO SAY IT IS UGLY ARE TOTALLY WRONG AND SHOULD GET THIS PHONE ASAP !! I LOVE THIS PHONE xxxxxx
This phone is simply better then iPhone, for one thing the iPhone will probably have to be used with the annoying iTunes. It doesn’t realy matter about the iPhone high inbuilt memory the fact is its still pretty small compared to attual mp3 players. You would still end up carrying you iPod around aswell. So on that basis I would go for the samsung due to the superior camara and the fact that I would think more people would buy the iPhone so the samsung would also stand out of the crowd.
I really love these hate comments made by apple fan boys, or apple itself. Doesn’t matter, this phone shits on the Iphone for one real good reason, two actually the fucking camera is better and the battery doesn’t crap out on you like the apple Ipod batteries. Doesn’t look user friendly? Maybe you should hold it in your hands before you say it’s user friendly or not. Google this phone and see how “user friendly” it really looks.
meizu M8 sorry!
I have been dying to get an iphone ever since I heard it came out but I’ve had loads of problems with my ipod and the battery life sucks so can u imagine an ipod and a phone? The F700 isnt ugly and if you find the pics through google you’ll see that but if anyone is going to china at the end of the yearand dont have mac but windows they are releasing a new phone EXACTLY like the iphone the Mezui M8 (I mean EXACTLY too) I cant wait for a release date for this phone!
lol, talk about pre-mature judgements… How can you guys claim that this will be difficult to use??? Don’t tell me it “looks” difficult to use, because it looks like the ipohone. More specifically, the GUI behaviour is almost the same as with the iphone. And the f700 does look stunning, the pictures don’t do it justice. I like both phones, think they are both an advancement from the dull designs (with exception of the LG Prada phone) we’ve seen in recent years.
So go and get both!
This looks like a great phone, as pretty as an iPhone with better features. I will definitely get this over an iPhone and will then make a point of telling pretentious iPhone owners why
Wow, the Apple fans came out in force on this article. I really don’t know why they’re saying the F700 is “ugly.” Call me blind, but it looks very similar, hence the “rip off” label all of them are saying. Is it because it’s lacking the apple icon? The iPhone is stylish, yah, but I have to aggree with Danny in the last comment. Everyone went nuts over the razr, and why? I think the iPhone is better than the razr, but is it better than other “smart phones”? I say no because the phone itself already has faults like having an unremovable battery and being a closed system. It’ll be good for casual users who want their mp3 player combined w/ their phone, but I’d personally rather stick with a regular phone that works like a phone and a laptop for my computing.
People that choose the iPhone are not real phone lovers. If you want to go function, go with real phones like the F700, and if you want to go with the 50% of the population that own a razr, go with the iPhone.
I would enjoy an iPhone if I received it for free. In the mean time, I’ll save up for an F700, its worth it all.
hi i really like this phone
i want to become a first user in INDIA
Please let me know when r u launching the same in INDIA
with best of all ur deals
Thanx !!!
I think the Samsung is much better than the iPhone. By the time the iPhone comes out it will be outdated. And the Apple doesn’t look any better than the Samsung, in fact no different to any other touchscreen phone out there, they are just slabs of Plastic. Oh and Apple are notorious for any of there first generation products having loads of faults and glitches, wait for the second generation if your that insistant, they may have caught up with everyone else by then. If Apple released that phone last year it would be sensational but not now, there are much better phones in the pipeline which will still be released before the Apple.
This F700 reminds me a lot of the 8125/ 8525. I think Samsung was more interested in improving on that well selling device. However, they are more than happy to cash in on the free advertising over the buzz that this is suppose to be a iphone killer. If memory serves me right the 8525 aint that pretty and since when did awesome techno gadgets have to be pretty, oh wait, when moto started the pink phone trend. I personally can’t wait to see an iphone killer from Sony Ericsson.
SiHi has it spot-on. Since when was it primarily about looking good, anyway? This Samsung is far from “ugly” and is far more technologically advanced in a number of ways.
Apple thinks they can throw some primary colors on some shiny plastic and make us all drool. Most Apple products will look completely outdated in 20 years because of this. Lucky for them, the technology fades even faster!
i think this phone looks amazing, not only more advanced than an iphone also a much more establised band and more reliable brand. remeber the nano problem. i think im going for the f700
Anything has got to be better than something with the Apple logo on it. If Apple announced they were releasing a squeezable dog turd with the Apple logo on it, muppets like on here would be placing their orders
Apple sucks, take the ipod, great idea but with shocking battery life and being restricted to the type of files it can play, it’s just a style icon rather than a quality product.
hahahahaha ur all geeks! get a life!!!!! stop bitchin 2 each other over the internet and get laid!
how stupid can u get? the iphone sucks! this phone isnt ugly and is USER FRIENDLY! why are u so hung up on the stupid iphone? cant u bear competition?! this phone is the iphone killer! samsung rocks!
i think that this is a great phone and the iphone has been out dated before its time!
How much will this cost and when does it come out?
i would like it on different colors like the chocolate but i like the keyboard a lot. I’D LIKE TO HEAR ABOUT THE KEYBOARD FOR THE IPHONE,I HEAR IT SUCKS! HA! WHAT ARE YOU GUNNA SAY TO THAT IPHONE LOVERS
Sheesh guys!
I’ve got one question to ask all of you, what are the two things that cause problems with Apple’s mobile products…..?
Battery life – Appalling (Something which no-one EVER accepts in a phone). A 5th gen iPod (the new one) can drain its battery in 5 hours with no headphones plugged in and the backlight off.
&
Stability – How many of you that own iPods have had them freeze on you? Probably most. How often may this happen to you? If its anything like me its far far far more often than my phone resets or freezes of its own accord (once in 7 months btw). iPods only play music and Apple can’t manage to keep them running without recurrent glitches, how well do you think they’ll manage a phone with a touchscreen, music player, internet access, camera etc etc….
Apple should stick to their Mac & iPod. Imagine playing music on your iPhone & using the phone, the battery would be dead sooner than you could imagine. Just like the iPod, you can’t replace the battery just like any mobile phone. I’ll go for the F700.
It should come out in 3rd qtr of this year..
why are Apple owners/fans so precious and defensive? Shame we can’t all just get along. The Samsung looks awesome, but to really be there or thereabouts it should have GPS too…still fancy it though – Windows Mobile 6 isn’t mentioned by anyone…
After a few nasty (and I do mean nasty) experiences with Motorola and Nokia I’ve just got back to a sane relationship with my samsung and I cannot wait to get hold of the F700…. the only problem I see is a lack of release date. Does anyone know when this is going to be out? The LG Prada was rumoured to be out at the end of Feb but so far it’s a no show. Fingers crossed the samsung will be here soon???
Apple, Apple, Apple, yak, yak, yak…
NOW LOOK. If you google the F700, you’ll find pics that totally disprove the “ugly” claim. What do you want? Flowers on the damn casing? The F700 camera alone puts the entire iPhone to shame. It’ll be refreshing to have a QWERTY keypad, without having to lug an enormous Blackberry around. One button plus a touchscreen just won’t be as functional or effective as a QWERTY keypad plus a touchscreen. From the Mac to the iPhone, the main Apple gripe over the years has been the simplistic, infantile one-button input devices that they insist upon including with their products.
And about the VibeTonz: in Russia exists the joke about such item – a Barbygirl asked her richie boy to gift her a phone with vibrator. OK, he says, just tell me what device should be mount into – vibe or phone? That`s the point for Samsung to think more about utilities…
My experience in using Samsung – after 1-2 month their soft bugs starts the reproductive period… Anyway Samsung never has Apple
If the iphone had a 5mp cam the device would rule the market. But now ill buy the n95. Sorry Apple your just slept at that feature.
You think you can beat the iphone with that!!! I say back to the drawing board. apples iphone looks like the easiest to use phone out there. Yours looks the hardest
I hope you haven’t overinvested in that phone, for it looks ugly, and hard to use. It’s also basically an iphgone clone if you strip away some of your fancy ad-ons. I’d prefer the iphone
Yuck. That’s one ugly phone that you heap praise on. The iphone sports new technology, with a unique touch screen, easy to use operating systeme, colourful icons that actuallly do something, and astounding internet service. You have made a clone which you have added a slide out keyboard, and vibrating touch screen, and a hefty camera. You’re phone looks ugly, and you feature no price or release date. I think I’ll get and iphone.
Uuuuugggglyyyy. That has to be the most hideous, diffficult phone Samsung has ever put together. While it talks of fancy gadgets, it says nothing of price, availability, or user friendliness. I’m getting an iphone
You’re claim that the f700 is superior to the iphone is rediculous at this stage. How can you presume to say that youre phone will do better when neither phone has been released yet. One other thing, you phone looks ugly and colorless
The consumer is going to decide which is the preferred phone. Let’s wait until the iPhone is on the market – as well as all of the other brands who are racing to catch up. Personally I think the iPhone will exceed Apple’s expectations, which is all that matters when defining how successful it is.
No matter how many fancy devices you’ve put into it, it still looks ugly and not very usable. Its also colorles in comparison to the iPhone
WHERE CAN i GET THiS PHONE?!?!
That’s it? The entire argument rests upon the fact that the Samsung has a better camera, a slide-out keypad, and a vibrating touchscreen?
What about the reliability of either the iPhone or the Samsung F700? How’s the overall user experience? How seamlessly does each sync with your computer?
Since neither one is on the market yet, it seems incredibly stupid to spout opinions at this point.
“the hole point of the iphone is so that there is only 1 button” lol the point of the iphone is for apple to enter the smart phone market F700 kills the iphone and will be released much earlier.
You claim you beat the iphone?!! At least the iPhone looks user friendly
Its colourless and rather boring, while it looks like its going to be a misery to use. I think I’ll buy an iPhone
I fail to see how a phone that vibrates accordingly when the screen is touched is more advanced than the multitouch screen utilized by the iphone. expandable memory? weak, current phones cannot expand past 2gb. Nice try samsung, but the iphone is still superior.
These are the type of phones that make you wish your contract was ending soon.
Perhaps it is more advanced than the iPhone, but it doesn’t look user friendly at all, and to top that it’s downright ugly.
the hole point of the iphone is so that there is only 1 button

[...] It’s not been the best of news for Apple since they announced the iPhone at the World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco earlier this year. So far they’ve been faced with stiff competition from the likes of LG with their Prada touch screen phone, and the most recent Samsung F700 Ultra Smartphone, the latter of which has already been said to have killed off the iPhone.
