New O2 Cocoon to rival Apple iPhone

O2 have announced an own brand music phone, the curiously shaped Cocoon.

Due to hit the market in the Autumn, the Cocoon has been designed as an integrated music and phone device aimed at the youth market who want music on the move.

It is the first own brand launch from O2 since the XDA, and complements their other music-oriented projects that include the Wireless music festivals in Hyde Park and the O2 concert arena in the re-branded Millennium Dome.

O2 Cocoon’s unusual design

The phone was designed by Swedish firm Syntes Studio, and their design concept below gives you some idea of the inspiration for the unusual shape.

The phone itself has a 2 megapixel autofocus camera and a second video calling camera, a QVGA 240X320 display, an MP3 player, an FM radio and expandable memory up to 2GB.

The internal layout appears quite simple, but there are also buttons located on the side of the device that work the media devices meaning that the Cocoon can be used as MP3, radio or perhaps an alarm clock even when the phone is shut!

I am getting this phone for my birthday, i just love the look of it and it has some pretty cool features. Like the fact that it has 2gb of memory and L.E.D’s are a nice touch.
    Very hot indeed.

Tell me, please someone tell me I am NOT DREAMING – another COPY CAT knock off of an iPhone? If you believe in the Bible, then you believe that the “Forbidden Apple” was a red one, not a mutation, like a green, or yellow, or hot-house deviant mutant Apple – Adam and Eve saw an Apple. What color was the very first Apple ever seen by Adam and Eve? It was a RED APPLE – that’s the way all of the GODS and NATURE meant for Adam and Eve to SEE THAT DAMN APPLE. Close your eyes – pretend you are in the Garden of Eden, and a Parrot passes overhead and shouts “It’s an Apple – It’s an Apple – It’s an Apple.”

You look up and see a fleeting parrot, and then you notice “An Apple.” What color is that very first Apple you see? It has to be a RED APPLE, right? It’s not a Granny Apple (Green) and it’s not a Yellow Apple and it also is not anything else in the Apple family except a “Damn Red Apple.” THAT was the very first APPLE if you are a Believer, or have the capabilities to take youroself back in time, through your DREAM strengths, and witness the beginning of civilization as we are TAUGHT in the BIBLE. YOU SAW A RED APPLE in the GARDEN OF EDEN.

This knock-off is a WHITE APPLE which at first sight makes me think of Black Fingerprints, Smudges, and the ingenuity of Giant Corporations who DO NOT WANT TO ACCEPT the concept of a UNIVERSAL INTELLIGENT SMART PHONE DESIGNED FOR ALL AGES, ALL NATIONALITIES, ALL RELIGIOINS, MALE AND FEMALE, ALL DISABLED, AND ALL IN NEED OF A LOVING INTELLIGENT PET, A FRIEND, NAMED “SALLY.”

Whoiz SALLY? She’s your kid sister, or brother, she’s your first pet, cat, dog, snake, whatever you love or have loved in your life. She’s the kinid of device that YOU WOULD NEVER LOSE, AND IF YOU DID, YOU WOULD BE MENTALLY DESTROYED BY THIS LOSS. Yes, Sally, is a device you grow to love and she loves you in return. Sally is configurable, she or he can speak to you, talk to you, be programmed to fool around with you, she or he and be programmed to listen to what you’re saying at the “Lounge scene” and then, while you’re putting on the front of being a rich upscale success, Sally might interrupt and say “Don’t believe him – he’s a born Loser.”

You never want to trade Sally in for anything – the phone is on the horizon – fully activated by Voice Recognition, Sally is a part of your being, she or he, is your third arm, your second heart, you love Sally and she or he loves you………and if lost, Sally blinks and asks to be found and taken back to YOU her master.

Yep – for now, whether an EYE Phone, EAR Phone, NOSE Phone, I’ll wait for Sally becuase Sally knows “EXACTLY WHAT I AM SEARCHING FOR.”

Thanks for the opportunity to put my damn hands all over this WHITE APPLE!

    Have a GREAT DAY!

This is just a poorly executed copy of the Naoto Fukasawa phone Neon for KDDI. There truely is no original thought or good design in the European and American market.

I’m sorry, I won’t be rushing out to buy this phone. OK it offers quite a lot, but the standard of the camera is really disappointing at only 2 megapixel.
I would have thought it would also look a lot better than it does, as it is I think it looks really cheap and tacky on the outside (well on the pics shown anyway). When opened up it looks a lot nicer, but the white outer looks dreadful and I’m not impressed with the overall look of the phone.
