According to recent reports you can now buy a SIM-free iPhone in Hong Kong for $2000. Or if you already have an iPhone they will unlock it for $750!
I can’t read Chinese but on Phonedaily’s website, which originally broke the news, it looks like they are using the TurboSIM unlocking method which I mentioned yesterday. If they are it’s rather cheeky to charge $2000 for a $599 iPhone which only needs an $80 TurboSIM and a bit of technology knowledge to unlock. I’m pretty sure that prices for SIM free iPhones will drop a lot lower so don’t rush out and buy one quite yet.

They’re actually selling the Apple iPhone here in Saudi Arabia. The picture in the leaflet shows the iPhone with the O2 network in the UK! I guess it must work here otherwise they wouldn’t be selling it. It’s going forabout $750.
