LG has officially confirmed it will be launching the LG KU990 aka the ‘LG Viewty‘ some time in the not too distant future here in the UK.
Speculated to be the next Prada Phone, the Viewty uses a similar touchscreen interface and boasts HSDPA-enhanced 3G broadband data capabilities. Its also got a whopping 5.1-megapixel camera with Schneider Kreuznach optics on the back that is capable of recording video at an awesome 120 frames per second … and thats some serious video quality compared to other mobiles I can tell you! With credentials like that you can have super slow-motion playback of recorded footage … possibly even super super slow-motion playback! The shooter comes with stabilization (likely digital), auto focus, and ISO 800 sensitivity. There’s also a second camera on the front for video calling as you’d expect.
Add to that a great big 3-inch, 240 x 400 pixel touchscreen and the Viewty shapes up as a pretty decent phone. Its also equipped with a single-click connection to YouTube allowing users to submit video clips to YouTube directly from their phone, as well as viewing clips from YouTube in general. We’re not absolutley sure what others features it will have but we believe it will pack in 170MB of internal memory, microSD card slot, music player, web browser and an FM Radio.
We expect a showing of the handset at the IFA Trade Fair in Berlin next week, so we should be able to provide full specs then.
Going by first impressions, I wonder if the Viewty will give the iPhone and/or the anticipated 5MP cameraphone from Sony Ericsson (the K850i) a run for their money? =/
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

i think that this phone is of the hook, basically in english terms, it’s a brill phone, which needs to be purchased by the whole entire nation !!! well i wouldn’t go that far but it a very impress phone and the ladies love it when you get it out !! Umm…. better stop you there cause your thinking way to far ahead now. just get it , it’s worth it trust me. camera is very precise…

I used to buy a mobile phone and a camera when the new ones came out, but I dont think I will bother with the cameras now – there is no point as every mobile seems to have one!

Had this phone for a few days now and i must say. WHAT A PHONE!!! Its lighter than i expected it to be, often forgetting its in my pocket, and although its not a small phone (mainly due to that lush 3″ screen) it feels good in your hand and is by no means a brick. Touch screen is bright and very responsive providing u put medium pressure on the buttons…sorry, screen. Camera is good although i have noticed that the pictures look alot better when transfered onto your pc. The handwriting feature is cool although isnt the best way to type your messages. Thats just a brief overview. There is so much more to this phone. The only thing that disappointed me is the lack of games, none to be precise, and the lack of themes. Only 3 on a t-mobile branded model. Overall a very decent phone and a worthy competitor in the 5mp camera phone race. Got mine for 20 quid on upgrade from t-mobile Flext 35 plan.

i also orderd this phone from t-mobile on a flex contract £30 a month for £180 worth of credit thats an amazing 900 minutes or 1800 texts per month t-mobile is great and so is this phone the only bad point is the micro sd expansion point is underneath the battery and it is totaly easy to use.
This phone is magic,so many features.Got hold of mine last week on the 3 network.It is just amazing.Great camera takes great video.

I HAVE JUST RECIEVED THIS FONE TODAY ON CONTRACT FROM T-MOBILE FOR £30.00 A MNTH, IT IS ACTUALLY QUITE AMAZING FONE CAMERA YOU CANT GET ANY BETTER.
It seems this is now out on Vodafone – £40 per month (12 mnth) for 500 mins & 500 texts.
But I’m not switching to Vodafone so will wait a while to see who else offers it…

I knew there was a reason why the PRADA phone was “LAME” on features. LG trying to tease Joe Public that they are truly “the way to go”. Lets see, didn’t this group have a 5mp camera released last year? It didnee do well, but then it was well chunky. This lastest offering looks more promising.
