At the launch of the 8gb Nokia N95 and the N81, Nokia dropped a bit of a bombshell. They are planning to launch what looks like a direct copy of the Apple iPhone, I wonder what the Apple lawyers will have the say about this.
Not only does it look like an iPhone but it looks like they have even copied the interface, check out this video. Don’t just take my word that it’s a copy, this is what Anssi Vanjoki — Nokia’s Executive VP & General Manager of Multimedia – said at the Questions & Answers session, “If there is something good in the world then we copy with pride”. Well if you can beat’em, join’em.
I assume what Nokia are planning to do is take the best features of the iPhone and improve on the weaknesses, e.g. it’s high price, poor camera, locked to one network and slow internet connection speeds. So expect the Nokia version to have a minimum of 5 mega pixel camera, HSDPA, and come SIM-free at a reasonable price.
Launch date is TBC but will be sometime in 2008.

Hi, I-Phone is perfectly difference to Nokia or any other Mobile phones. As for the 2px camera…I discovered that the soft ware used for that camera is so perfect and best version for camera that even 3 or 5mpx of some other phones cannot withstands it. As for BT and personal caller ringing tones, you can do that if you have the software.
I phone is good. Nokia have there way out as well but Sony Ericssion is satnds out. I am talking from experience and one of the mobile phones consultant in Africa.
Stay bless
I love the iphone I really need it
Cram all the N95 technology into this new phone, ramp up the camera to 7mp with optical zoom, GPS, removable data storage and batteries and you have a total market winner. Any less than that would be a shame to see!
Oh, and style it up – A sleek handset with that capability would be a market leader for a long time. Sadly, knowing Nokia, it will be launched with a comprimised spec! Sad, but true!
When I want a camera I buy a camera. when I want a phone I buy a phone.
not even close! its tacky it aint pimping. bring on the iphone ohhh mamma!
I thought that the Iphone was overpriced and it had many weaknesses such as its poor camera and its extremely expensive handset price. Also I prefer my phones to be unlocked so I can change sim cards and this Iphone is locked to one network, So thats me ruled out. I have had a nokia phone before and I have found it very reliable as it will have a very high mega pixel camera and come sim free at a reasonable price.
whos botherd means another good phone on the market…

Actually, someone already questioned nokia about copyrights for this, and the answer was: “There is no such thing”…
If iphone decide that nokia have enfringed copyright surely that would pave the way for the spice girls to sue girls aloud? Am I right or am I right??!!
Anyhow fair play to nokia, I remember travelling without reason before not knowing where, or why, but nokia came to my rescue with the 3210 and did not offend or upset!
Surely a dolphin is only a fish as it does not have wings even though it is said sometimes it fly’s!
Mull over it!
