Blog for Dial-a-Phone – Win an iPhone!

Published August 31, 2007 by Harriet Rhodes in Uncategorized

Dial-a-Phone are looking for Bloggers!

The Dial-a-Phone Blog is going from strength to strength, our readership has been steadily increasing since our launch a year ago, and we’re getting loads of new subscribers.

But we want more!

We’re lucky that we’re writing about an industry that has a natural appeal to a lot of people, and we can tell from some of the comments we get that there’s a phenomenal range of opinions about mobile phones. The fact is that (nearly) all the writers for the DAP Blog sit within ten feet of each other, walk on the same bit of carpet, see all the same phones and pretty much agree on what they like and dislike (with the exception of Julian who just dislikes everything that is in any way different to what he is used to!).

It would be a shame to forgo such a wealth of opinion and insight, so we’d like to open up the blog to external writers, and what’s more we’re going to bribe you to do it!

We’re approaching the dawn of the iPhone age in the UK, so what better way to mark the occasion than by giving away a brand new iPhone to the writer of the best blog post we receive?

And not only that we’ll pay a minimum of £25 ($50) for any blog post we use on the site!

Here’s the catch!

We’re only looking for the highest quality writing! Please don’t write to us with run of the mill mobile phone reviews, because we’ve got plenty of them anyway! We want writing that is edgy and controversial, comprehensive and wonderfully well-researched! We will only accept material than meet these criteria, and we will be very selective when choosing the posts to go on our site.

What we are looking for:

  • Posts that bring a large amount of traffic to the website
  • Posts that provoke furious discussion on our website and other websites!
  • Posts that receive a large number of links from other blogs and websites
  • Posts that feature prominently on social networking sites such as Digg and Reddit.

Here a few examples of posts that fit the bill: Social Networking Sites and Mobile Phones, Top 10 most expensive mobile phones in the world, The Alternative Orange Animals Tariffs

If you think you’ve got what it takes, then send your entries to blog@dialaphone.co.uk. We will judge which has been the best post by the number of hits received on that page, though we will also take into account total links generated to each post. Just to recap, we will pay £25 ($50) only for posts that we publish directly onto the Dial-a-Phone Blog, and those entries will get included in the iPhone competiton.

The winner will be announced at the end of November!

There can’t be anything to lose by entering this competition, and you don’t have to spend a penny

Yes but what happens if we can’t afford the contract. Yes the phone is free but it will still cost me £50 a month to use it £600 a year.

Great prize, but you never know there may be some generous people here at Dialaphone.
