Key features of the 8 Megapixel Sony Ericsson C905

i have had my sony ericsson c905 for a month now.
it keeps on hanging and today the volume stopped so i cant hear anything unless i put the phone on speaker. its reaaly irritating.
i love this phone iv had it for 2 weeks now and i think i would love to keep it for ever the camera is grate

i got an upgrade C905 on O2 contract. When i first saw this phone really impressed me but then when i got my hands on to it for initial trial i was really annoyed with this phone. I tried to take a pic, but i could not see any display on the screen. So whats the use of this cam phone 8MP if u cannot take a pic. THis phone sucks…..

About time! I have just received my C905 yesterday on 3 for free on 300 Mix n Match for £23.25 per month. All the functions are good. They do not include the TV out cable, which I was dissapointed with.
Im trying to to get on the wireless internet using my router at home so that I can do a full review of the handset. Does anyone know how to the MAC address so that I can link it to my router? I cant seem to use the WiFi function correctly.
It is by far the best phone on the market.
I-phone too bulky, N96 too bulky, there is a new samsung coming out only seen on net and it does look good (8800 i think is the model).
Vodafone gave me a very good deal, free handset, unlimited texts, 600 minutes, unlimited internet and email all for £40 per month, first four months at half price, so in theory £35.50 per month for 18 months.
The best deal I could find, I missed out on phones4u cock up.
This Phone is a let down. It sounds tinny and the camera is not as good as I had hoped it would be. I love meaty lengths.

Yeah it does record video with sound; as for videos at night time… even with the video light it’ll probably only be effective at ranges of a few metres maximum, most phones nowadays have a night mode on there cameras, however this isn’t true night vision ( as far as I’m aware) and I’m sure you wouldn’t want it to be as then your videos would be green.
If you need to video at night time then you’d have to buy a dedicated camera for that or…….. you could buy a really BIG flashlight and just illuminate the area you want to video, hey presto your C905 will video at night. waheyyyy

If you do your upgrade through a 3rd party store you will be able to get the N96 for free on a £40 contract. I know for a fact that phones 4 u can upgrade you even if you didn’t initially purchase your contract from them. Dial-a-phone also do it.
I’m on a 12 month contract with orange (£35 p/m), yet I was able to get the w580i (app 2 years ago) and the LG viewty last year; i also got the N80 whilst on a £25p/m contract, this upgrade was through orange. You just go to the store and say I’m on a contract and I’m due an upgrade; I’d like to upgrade my phone and stay on the same contract. Usually these stores offer ‘cashback’ as an incentive to upgrade with them, thus if your contract doesn’t allow you to get the phone for free they will use that cash or a trade (cash for your old phone) to get you it free – obviously if you go through your network provider you wont get this option.
wish they’d just chuffing release the phone already, It’s popping up on lots of sites now, but they don’t state if it’s pre order or actual purchase. Some sites even offer it in all three colours.
Just spoken to Orange about this phone, they are saying it will be out on the 27th this month and should be free (as all other models for Sony Ericssons have been)
I wanted the N96 for all it’s codec’s and features, but this has a better cam and may just have the codec’s I wanted, plus if I can get it as a free upgrade rather than spending £200 for the handset (or being forced to cancel the contract to then take out the same contract through a 3rd party just to get the N96 for free – yes it’s madness) then it may be the best option out there.

Looked very elegant and smart altho currently only available in black, as i think the ice silver will look superb. I just rang the sales line of phones 4 U (I know this is dial-a-phone, but this is for info) as the phone is available for pre-order on their website, but not in store. The lady on the phone said their based at head office so get the phones a week before the stores, anyway, it was due to be on sale this week, unfortunately they’ve had problems with the phone and it could be next month before it’s released.
I’m due an upgrade on orange, as is my Mum; I’ve convinced her to get this phone as opposed to the c902. I can put up with waiting a while for the phone, but I didn’t want to hear that it’s delayed (even more) because of faults. Whatw as the initial delay for then?
Supposedly Sony Ericsson do all this testing on phones so they are market ready when they reach the service providers et cetera, so how come given this testing of phones they always seem to be broke when they are initially released?
It can’t be all that difficult to give a few (hundred?) people the phone and ask them to test it before it’s released, can it? Fix faults!!! Then when you sell supposedly finished article to customers – i.e. service providers – it will be fit for use by the consumers – i.e. ME – , is this not a reasonable expectation?
It seems now that all ( especially sony ericsson) phones are delayed and then when they eventually release them they are still broke. Nokia gets their phones out on time and we know they wont work, which isn’t so bad ‘cos we expect it, but sony ericsson gets them out late and their still chuffing broke.
Seriosuly, Sven et. al., get a grip of yourselves and sort it out.

I’ve had numerous Samsung and nokia phones and found the video on the old samsung E720 still beats anything on the market today when sharing video. Unless Nokia and Samsung do something about the SERIOUS time lag in taking a picture (4 seconds!!!!!) then i don’t hold out much hope for either the N96 or new i8150. I’m looking at the new LG Renoir (KC910) or the sony ericson C905 (but concerned about the video quality on that one).

OMG this phone is even better in the flesh – I thought it looked good in the pictures but saw one of Sony’s reps showing it off in-store. The size is just right, there has been too much focus on phones having to be super tiny recently. With all the features plus the Cybershot pedigree this will be the best 8MP device to have. Roll on November for my up-grade
this phone with the 8,1 mpx camera sounds great but I can’t understand why SE is so far behind the competition when talking about video image record????,it will still have ONLY 240×320 pixels,not even 30 fps in VGA quality,this is not acceptable in this range of phones,other phones from nokia or samsung have this features since YEARS already and if somebody will say that we are still talking only about phones with camera but about video recorders is wrong!!!,such a phone must have at least VGA 30 fps on board.

My contract is up about the time of this phones release and while i’m not really bothered about what people think about MY phone. I do want something which is reliable, fulfills my needs and is better than the last phone I had. Phone I’ve got now is a K800i and has been the best phone I’ve ever had.
This C905 looks like its set to be Sony’s flagship phone and as a believer that Sony is probably the best manufacturer at this present time. I hope that they don’t do anything silly with this new release.
I read about it a few months ago by chance so I’m certainly hoping that by the time it comes out it will be as reliable and well thought out as some of its predecessors.
Drew, Nokia are the last company bringing out an 8MP camera, therefore they are not breaking new ground.
Sony Ericcson were the first with the C905, then it was Samsung with the i805.
LG now have one, with the KC910i.
The other major phone companies, Motorola and Nokia havn’t even announced an 8MP mobile phone yet.

With the zoom lens out, that samsung phone looks absolutely ridiculous but that means that its optical zoom rather than digital.
Its worth considering for that alone
dear princess, digital means nothing if they say optical, then is the time to get excited. digital is rubbish its just cropping an image, 2x zoom means 4x less pixels.
just shoot and crop at a later time on phone or computer when you can spend more time framing image you want. but all in all it sounds great i never have camera around whem needed, now i may not need to. phone will do!? only quesion is delay between pressing shutter and picture being taken now thats when it ill make its mark

As for the rest in total excitement and asking when it is due to be released, why not take a breath, and read other peoples posts? It has clearly been suggested that it will be around the sept/october time ready for Christmas, and as that would make perfect commercial sense, it is a good indicator…….

Yes ok they have a 10mp camera phone, but 1) there is no guarantee it will even be released in Europe and 2) have you seen the size of it?!?!
If there was a choice between all manufacturers with 8mp phones (it will happen at some point, its just when) I would choose a Sony, due to the fact that they are extremely well built, rarely suffer software problems (sorry Nokia) and have been well known for their ease of use …unlike others such as Samsung and Motorola.. But thats just my opinion, I only worked selling mobile phones so, what do I know..

Drew, I think you will find that the C902 has a 5MP camera…but the C905 does in fact have a 8MP camera.

Blimey, Someone at SE has had lift off with the new 8MP, I hope they produce it in styles other than the slider!
Andrew, I think you’ll find the C09 has a 5MP camera. SE are bit slow like that but most of their phones are robust & solid. Nokia on the other hand is the company that likes to break new ground, make waves at the expense of quality control. They will shortly release an 8MP model.
