Nokia announced the new 8800 Carbon Arte, a handset which joins the 8800 Arte and 8800 Arte Sapphire as members of Nokia’s designer mobile phone range. The Arte series is all about exclusivity, so don’t expect an arm-length feature list or any ground-breaking new tech, just sit back and sigh as you gaze upon this little beauty.

Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte
● The Carbon’s shell is created using a combination of carbon fibre, titanium, stainless steel and polished glass.
● Turn-to-silence feature which thanks to the accelerometer inside mutes the phone by simply tuning it face down on the table.
● A 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus.
● Internal memory has been increased over the Arte and Arte Sapphire from 1GB to 4GB.
Aside from the very welcome memory increase and change in materials used in its construction, the Carbon’s internals remain similar to those of the other Arte series handsets. It’s 3G enabled, features Nokia’s media player and uses a multi-use mini-USB connection instead of various different sockets cluttering the side panels. It’s all about the look you see! With its expected price on a par with the Arte Sapphire, it will come as no surprise that the Carbon will come in an impressive package. Expect to find a special desktop stand, a touch-sensitive Bluetooth headset and a stylish leather carry case inside the box, plus plenty of specially created wallpapers, ringtones for you to choose from too. The Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte will be on sale during the third quarter of 2008.
