It is official. Nokia has announced that the much anticipated N96, the latest and greatest in the highly acclaimed Nokia N series, is on its way to us from Finnish shores. Nokia’s latest dualslider multimedia beast has been the topic of much interest and discussion since it was originally announced all the way back in January of this year and it looks as if the wait was well worth it. The N96 will cost around 550 Euros or £440 which makes it about £100 more expensive than the N95 8GB. Based on these figures we estimate that the Nokia N96 would be available on a O2 £35 tariff for between £100 and £150 and would likely to be cheaper on a higher tariff.

Every effort has been made to ensure the the N96 lives up to the legacy of the N95 and a host of fantastic features have been included which are set to ensure its place among this years top handsets.
For those who are not versed in the language of N96 the Key features include:
- Live TV thanks to integrated DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting – Handheld) technology
- A 2.8″ Display which produces high quality images and supports a wide range of video formats
- Assisted GPS which offers turn-by-turn voice navigation using Nokia Maps
- A Massive 16GBs of internal memory with the potential for extension to a monstrous 24GB by way of an optional MicroSD card
- N-gage gaming which takes full advantage of the vivid display and the onboard 3D sound
- 5 Megapixel camera which includes superior quality optics from Carl Zeiss
- WLAN and HSDPA support
These impressive features provide the ability to capture high quality photos and video as well as watching live TV wherever you are and then share these with your friends and family online. It even offers the user up to 30 seconds of playback when using the live TV. You can store up 40 hours of video on this phone
A host of exciting integrated applications succeed at flaunting the N96s multimdia abilities and Nokia have also said that the handset is likely to be preloaded with a blockbuster movie but this depends on the market country. Some of these great applications include:
- Nokia Video Centre provides the user with access to a huge variety of video content from varied sources including YouTube and Sony Pictures.
- City Guides allows you to fully utilise the A-GPS to find all the undiscovered places you always wnated to go to
- Nokia Music Store allows you to download your favourite latest hit or classic tune as well as to create your own personalised playlist
In all it is a great little package, certainly worthy of all the interest and hype it has caused. We know that you can’t wait for the Nokia N96 to be available so keep an eye out for great deals from us as soon as it lands on UK shores.

I think N96 has less improvement in design and features. It’s not a huge leap from n95. And i dont see a reason why a n95 user should upgrade.
i want to buy one n-series mobile having good picture quality and mp3 player and internet facility too.
