For those of you who have gone through the last few months thinking that the “Credit Crunch” was a form of cereal and that a “recession” only refers to your dad’s balding hairline, there is a new luxury mobile handset on the market that comes complete with a mechanical watch.

The Mobiado 105GMT GOLD has an integrated Swiss mechanical watch below the keypad with each movement containing 25 jeweled bearings, and has the ability to perform 28,800 vibrations per hour, which is important in the watch world.

The watch has 28 hours of power reserve, and is a self-winding automatic mechanism with a ball-bearing.

It’s not all old school with this mechanism though, as you can set two international time zones (woo…) thanks to a dual mechanical watch movement called the Discovery mechanism.

The phone itself is equipped with a 2 megapixel photo and video camera, and packs over 1 GB of internal memory. The 2″ display boasts up to 16 million colors.

It also has both Bluetooth and micro USB connectivity, and a music player that supports AAC, eAAC+, and MP3 audio formats.

If you like the idea of exclusivity, this handset is limited to just 50 phones, with a limited edition number engraved on the back of each 105GMT GOLD.

The price of this bit of royalty is yet to be announced, but no doubt you’ll be living off canned backed beans for a few months after you’ve whipped out your credit card for this.
