Mobile Spy reaches the iPhone

Published January 6, 2009 by Dialaphone in News

The latest app to hit the iPhone is one with questionable ethics, which makes it bound to generate some interest amongst consumers.

Mobile Spy is designed for the suspicious, jealous or even just mildly curious out there, who want to keep tabs on someone.

The idea behind this app is that it is installed on the phone of a person you want to keep an eye on. It will then remain hidden in the background and will monitor all activity. This includes incoming and outgoing calls, web browsing and SMS messages. Mobile Spy will then upload these in-depth log files to an online database for you to access through your Mobile Spy account.

It has been used by companies who want to keep tabs on exactly what employees use the company mobile for.

The iPhone version will work for second generation iPhones only.  You don’t need 3G access to use Mobile Spy,  however your phone still needs to be 3G enabled.

One drawback about the iPhone version of this app is that your iPhone needs to be jailbroken for it to work. The guys over at Mobile Spy will rather helpfully provide the instructions on how to do this to your handset- at your own risk of course.
