New Motorola Touchscreen Phone Spotted.

Motorola were unsurprisingly quiet at Mobile World Congress, with little to excite on show.  If however, they had this unidentified model out for everyone to see, the Internet would have been filled with ‘Motorola is Back’ style headlines, as this is exactly the type of handset they need to stage their comeback!

Well, potentially anyway, as very little is actually known about the mystery Moto.  We can see it has a large touchscreen, a video call lens and a few hardware buttons on the front panel and then around the back is a Kodak branded camera rated at 5 megapixels with a flash unit alongside.  Other than that, it’s anyone’s guess.

As has been pointed out, with no screenshots, we have no idea what operating system it will run, however for this to gain any sort of attention it needs to be Android or at a push, WinMo 6.5 later in the year.  However, we suspect one of two things.  First, that it’s a WinMo 6.1 phone, which makes it far less exciting, or secondly, that it’s not real.  Since the picture of the phone with the TV-out lead is very unconvincing, it’ll be filed under ‘See It/Believe It’, cross referenced with ‘If Only…’ for now.

Motorola are a struggling company. People are crying out for a decent Android phone. Motorola have an opportunity here to get themselves back on the map by giving their customers what they want. Let’s see if they’ve listened or if they’ll just shove WinMo 6.1 on there and blend in with the many, many similar phones out there.
