The F480 Tocco has been a great seller for Samsung thanks to its high spec and full touchscreen, however the next phone to wear the Tocco name will be the S8300, which comes equipped with a slider covering a standard alphanumeric keypad in addition to its touchscreen. It looks great, however could this currently unofficial Samsung handset be ready to fill the F480′s shoes as a midrange touch model?
Known only as the S5600, the design is certainly an evolution of the Tocco and again, it uses Samsung’s excellent TouchWIZ user interface. Mobile Review took some pictures of the S5600 at last week’s Mobile World Congress, however details on the specification are almost non-existant aside from what can be seen in the pictures. Yes it’s got a camera and 3G, plus an HTC Touch-sized casing, but for now, that’s all we get!
It was this time last year when we first saw the F480 Tocco at MWC 2008 and its release followed in May, so it would be reasonable to expect something similar to the S5600. Watch this space!
