The mobile phone news keeps on coming and to keep everyone up to date, here’s our handy, weekly roundup of the stories which may have escaped you!

1. Dance, Wherever You May Be!
Remember the T-Mobile Dance TV advert filmed at Liverpool Street Station, where hundreds of people spontaneously broke out into a complex dance routine? Well, Universal Music and T-Mobile are giving you the chance to re-inact it wherever and whenever you like with the release of the Liverpool Street Station Dance album, featuring all the songs used in the ad. Get if from iTunes and Amazon etc on the 2nd March.
2. Texting Makes Kids Clever!
Well, maybe not clever, but according to Coventry University, those who text more often have better reading and vocabulary skills thanks to being involved with another form of text-based communication. Interestingly, kids using abbreviations and text-speak often topped the 88-child survey despite their butchery of the language.
3. The RAZR Still Lives!
For ages the Motorola V3 RAZR was the best selling phone in the world, but despite its manufacturers recent misfortune and the iPhone 3G toppling it from the top spot as America’s favourite mobile, the little phone soldiers on in Korea! This is the RAZR LuK and is made with a combination of pearl white and 18 carat gold, it’s also a 3G V3 with HSDPA!
4. More Lenovo Phones for China.
China got this gorgeous looking Lenovo mobile a while back and now they have two more to add to the list, the i60 and i60s. Both have 240×400 screens, media players and are GSM handsets, so they could happily work in Europe, plus the i60s’s extra buttons could set it up for Android use. We know it’s unlikely, but we can dream!

5. LG Release the Versa in the USA.
This is an unusual phone! The LG Versa looks like a regular touchscreen mobile out of its special case but pop it in and you can make use of the QWERTY keyboard underneath the front cover of the case. That’s not all the case does either, as it even has a small OLED display on the outside showing the key information about your phone. It’s launched on the 1st March by Verizon in the USA, so Europe could see the device from Vodafone in the future.
6. On-Again-Off-Again Kogan Agora is On Again!
Seemingly moments after the Kogan Agora was announced, it was being delayed, but now the Australian company is back in the news saying they will be revising the Agora’s QWERTY-keyboard design and instead using a 3.8″ touchscreen model blessed with the Cupcake-updated Android OS. There’s no word on when we’ll see this new version though.
7. Nokia Netbooks?
This week has seen rumours that Nokia may be planning to enter the word of the netbook and laptop with a Symbian-based device. We love this idea, but as has been pointed out, it does smack of an ‘anything you can do, we can do better’ bandwagon jumping move against Google’s Android.
8. Hyundai’s Dolphin Phone.
Nope, it’s not got the speaker in the nose and the microphone in the tail as we expected, but instead takes on a vague dolphin look from the side profile. Looking at the MB-490i phone from every other angle and there’s no denying it looks rather nice, it’s even got a 240×400 touchscreen. We’re looking forward to actually trying a Hyundai phone and hope the UI has had as much attention as the body!
9. And you Thought Ringtones Could be Too Loud…
The Samsung SPH-7100 is very concerned about your safety. If you’re feeling uncomfortable or are in a dangerous situation, hit the right button and the W7100 will let out a deafening 100db scream and send a message to the emergency services along with a set of GPS co-ordinates giving your location. Want to know what 100db sounds like? Stick your head under the bonnet of a car when the alarm is going off. Loud isn’t it.

10. More Limited Edition Phones for the Rich and Tasteless.
This time it comes from Gresso and is named the Sol Gold Skeleton. While not as ostentatious as some we see, it’s still made from titanium and 18 carat gold and wears a price tag of $4400 (£3100). Seeing as the actual features are rather ordinary, the Gresso has a piece of polished sapphire glass on the rear panel allowing you to see the phone’s circuit boards in order to make it special. Well done, it certainly convinced us.
See you in March!
