It’s Friday and that means a look at some more of the top mobile phone stories of the week. The big news centres around speculation over the content of the Apple WWDC set for June, but we happen to love the Ulysee Nardin phone more…

1. Gorgeous Kinetically Powered Phone.
The Ulysee Nardin Chairman Kinetic (phew) comes from a team who make flash watches, and this is their version of a flash mobile phone. This black and gold beauty has a 2.8″ touchscreen with multi-touch, a 5 megapixel camera and a special rotor system which creates energy to feed the battery. It’s a one-off at the moment, so don’t reach for your wallet just yet!
2. WWDC Set for June 8th – new iPhone?
It’s that time of the year again! Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference has been announced for the 8th June and this is the event where the last two iPhones have been announced, so are we in for a new one this year? All sorts of speculation can be found by following the above link.
3. More Sony Ericsson Woe.
Sony Ericsson have not been having the best month. The current president of Sony Ericsson USA has resigned and is to leave the company at the end of March. Anders Runevald, Executive VP and Head of Global Sales and Marketing will stand in until a new president is recruited.
4. Acer Android in September.
With Dell heading back to the drawing board, Acer looks set to be the other computer manufacturer to try and bring us an Android mobile phone this year. Rumoured to be named the A1 and September as the release month, we’ve yet to have official word from Acer.
5. Sony Ericsson T707 Announced.
This is the latest clamshell mobile from Sony Ericsson and it will be available in three colours, black, red and blue, and has a 3.2 megapixel camera, 3G and HSDPA support, lighting effects and gesture controls. The design may be a little feminine, but it’s certainly one of the better flip phones we’ve seen lately.
6. BlackBerry App World Out for Fools Day?
Yes, April 1st could be the day for the BlackBerry App Store. An appropriate date given the dreary name and minimum $2.99 app price point. It’s unclear whether this will be a worldwide release or US only.
7. O2 and Vodafone Join Forces.
The UK’s two largest mobile operating companies, O2 and Vodafone, are joining forces to share networks and build new phone sites. The deal is designed to save them money in the face of falling profits and will be enforced in the UK, Germany, Spain and Ireland, however it will be a ‘back office’ situation rather than network traffic.
8. Face Tagging Coming to Samsung Phones?
This new feature has been spotted on a new Korean Samsung phone called the Haptic, and it allows you to tap a face in your photo gallery to make a call or send an SMS to that person! Although the Haptic isn’t announced for Europe yet, expect this feature to make an appearance soon.
9. More Samsung Touchscreen Leakage.
We’ve had the S8000 and M8000 touchscreen wonders this week, however neither have confirmed operating systems. There’s no such issues with the B7300 though, as the pictures show it happily running Windows Mobile. Additionally the phone has a 3 megapixel camera and a large touchscreen.
10. Interactive Gaming Billboard Accessed by Your Phone.
If you find yourself in the tech-mecca of Akihabara in Tokyo, see if you can find this Toshiba billboard, which displays a telephone number to call from your mobile so you can play the interactive game right there! Have a look at the video by following the link.
