Could the cat be out of the bag? Or, more accurately, the mobile phone out of the box? A Lithuanian mobile store has published pictures and a spec list for a new Samsung phone, the I8000, which could be the secret handset due to be revealed at Samsung Unpacked. Here’s what we know.
While the Unpacked website did promise us a feature list, we instead got a short video which gives little away. It states the mobile will have ‘fast performance at your finger tips’, a ‘sleek and compact design’, advanced internet, multimedia and a bright display. The definitely sleek I8000 – also known as the Omnia2 – will have a 3.7″ AMOLED touchscreen, b/g compatible Wi-Fi and an 8.1 megpixel camera, so it fits the video’s basic description.
The Omnia2 runs a modified version of Windows Mobile 6.1 incorporating a newly polished Samsung TouchWiz user interface, plus the phone will have GPS. If the I8000 is the phone at the bottom of the Unpacked box, we have just five days before its official launch.
