We posted a leaked picture of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 in our weekly roundup recently, but the quality was low and the phone looked to be an early prototype. Today though, a collection of far higher quality pictures have been published on the ‘Sony Ericsson Fan Blog‘, not only giving us a better look, but confirming the OS too.
The Xperia X2 is shown running Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional on its screen, and the casing has a more sleek and modern look to it, with the most noticable difference over the X1 being the loss of the triangular soft keys. A forward facing camera is visible, and 3G with HSDPA is likely. A memory expansion slot, which we presume will be for a MicroSD card following Sony Ericsson’s switch, and a Qualcomm ARM MSM7200 – as found in the X1 – processor are listed too.
An ‘open’ shot shows the keyboard looking good, with a very natural layout, similar to that found in the new HTC TouchPro2, all of which makes us look forward to Sony Ericsson’s announcement!
