People say that the secret to success is to find work that you really love doing. If you are passionate about your job then you are going to work harder to succeed at making money at it. And even though you’re working harder, the work will feel more like play. You’ll truly enjoy the life that you’re leading. So what if what you’re passionate about is mobile phones? Perhaps you should look into getting a job that is going to allow you to work with mobile phones on a daily basis.

Here is a look at ten great jobs that are available to people who have an interest in mobile phones:

Mobile phone technician1. Mobile Phone Tester. This is perhaps one of the most coveted jobs out there in terms of the sheer number of people who think that they would love to have this job. Your work consists of receiving new mobile phones and phone apps before they are released to the public. You get to play around with them and then offer your opinion on them. The good news is that this job is really fun if you are able to obtain it. The bad news is that there are very few job openings for this position, most of them don’t pay very well and you typically end up having to do other work for this job as well. For example, someone who works at a mobile phone company doing administrative stuff may be able to do some mobile phone testing as a perk of the job. Or someone who works in tech journalism may get to test mobile phones in order to do reviews. Being a cell phone tester is a good gig but it’s not a full-time job for most people.

2. Mobile Phone Mystery Shopper. This is another one of those mobile phone jobs that is somewhat difficult to get and will probably only work as a part-time job for those who do manage to obtain it. However, it’s also a job that’s really fun. As a mystery shopper, you get hired to go into cell phone stores to make purchases of new devices. You meet a lot of people since you’re dealing with customer service reps in every store.

3. Cashier / Customer Service Rep in a Mobile Phone Store. This is one of the easiest jobs to get in the mobile phone industry. Anyone with a true love of mobile phones and some experience working in retail can qualify to work in a cell phone store. Many people don’t have an interest in this job because they don’t want to do customer service or sales work. However, if you enjoy playing around with the newest phones and you like to talk about different types of phones with strangers then you may find that you actually enjoy this type of mobile phone work.

4. On-Site Technician. Perhaps you do enjoy talking with people about their mobile phones but you don’t really see yourself doing well in a sales position. If you’re skilled at problem solving and know your way around mobile phones then you may want to work as an on-site technician. These are the people who show up to solve problems at your home when phones aren’t working right. This isn’t a service needed by the average mobile phone user since they can easily take their phone into a store for repairs. However, these days, a lot of people are bundling their mobile phone service with on-site services like TV and Internet. Increased use of VoIP and Unified Communications makes it more likely that people may experience mobile phone issues in the home or at their place of business. People who have a diverse interest in all types of mobile technology would like this work.

5. Cell Phone Refurbisher. Perhaps you like the idea of doing the job of a technician but you don’t love the idea of having to deal with customers all day long. It may be possible to get a job doing technician work that doesn’t involve customer service. An example of such a job is to work as a mobile phone refurbisher for companies that specialize in offering refurbished phones to customers. You do the work in their office or factory space and deal only with your co-workers.

6. Design Mobile Phone Apps. Many people are interested in the number of different applications that are now available for smartphones. There are applications for everything from business services to gaming. If you’re creative and interested in the development of programs for phones then you may be able to get a job designing phone apps. These jobs are available with startup companies. Or you could launch your own small business designing and promoting apps for mobile phones using the software developer kits made available through organizations like Android. A similar but more professional job of this nature is to get hired as a mobile phone programmer.

One of them is the opportunity to serve as an expert who answers questions from people who want to know different things about mobile phones. Typically these questions are asked via text or instant message. Your job is to do a bit of online research to find the answer to the question and then respond to the question appropriately. You get paid per question. This work can typically be done from home during flexible hours which means it may be a part-time or full-time job. If you enjoy the idea of teaching people about mobile phones but you don’t like the thought of doing all of your work online then another related option would be to work as a mobile device deployment instructor which is someone who teaches people on-site about how to use mobile services.

9. Mobile Phone Journalist. There are some people who manage to make a part-time or full-time living simply by writing about mobile phones. This writing typically consists of a combination of news, reviews and opinion pieces about mobile phone handsets, mobile phone applications and the wireless industry as a whole. People who make a full-time living at this generally do a combination of blogging, web article writing and print article writing. It is also possible to get paid to write books on this topic. Getting into this field generally involves working for little or no pay at first as you establish a portfolio of your writing but can eventually lead to a full-time job.

10. Mobile Phone Artist. There are a lot of artists around the globe who are making really cool art with mobile phones either as the subject or the medium for their work. Some of these people manage to make a living doing this type of art. If you’re creative and ambitious and feel like you could make an artistic statement about mobile phones then perhaps this work is for you. There are also more traditional art jobs related to mobile phones, of course. You could do graphic design for mobile phone bloggers or create print ads for mobile phone companies.
