Samsung are throwing their smartphone hat into the Android arena, aiming to take some of that sweet market share from HTC’s Magic.  The Galaxy i7500 is a little thinner than the Magic model, but still jams in a 5 megapixel camera and even an LED flash.

The news was broken by the well-connected fellows over at The Register, whose strategy of “talk to the official spokesperson” then “go talk to the people actually selling it” seems to succeed quite often.  Unconfirmed reports have the Galaxy going on sale this week – it’ll be interesting to see if it opens up the Android market, and if another high-end phone can find buyers in the current climate.
