LG’s New Chocolate Has a UK Release Date!

Published September 7, 2009 by Andrew Boxall in Mobile Phones, News

LG Chocolate 2, BL40It has been the subject of our dreams for several months now, where we’ve been teased with pictures, videos and hints of the specification, before now, when LG has finally given us what we want: chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!  We are of course, talking about the BL40, LG’s latest Black Label Series mobile phone and the second in their range to wear the Chocolate name.

Just before the weekend, LG announced the BL40 was ready for launch and Europe would be seeing the phone from mid-September, with a worldwide roll-out continuing after this.  Just in case you haven’t been keeping up to date with the new Chocolate, here are some of its feature highlights:

  • A 4″, 21:9 aspect ratio, 800×345 resolution, LCD touchscreen which can display two different functions at the same time.
  • LG’s S-Class user interface gives accurate finger control.
  •  3G with HSDPA and Wi-Fi.
  • Dolby Mobile sound and DivX decoding will let you take full advantage of the stunning screen.
  • A 5 megapixel camera.

The unusual screen size and resolution is a clever solution to viewing web pages on the go, as the wide 800 pixel screen will allow you to read text almost exactly as it was designed to be, without the need for zooming or repositioning.  The 21:9 aspect ratio should make movies look superb too.

This slender, chic mobile phone will be making its debut here in the UK before anywhere else, and we have the feeling it’s going to be a huge success!
