HTC Touch 2

Earlier this week HTC unveiled its latest Android handset the HTC Tattoo. Now the Taiwan mobile giant is expected to release yet another touchscreen this month. Rumour has it HTC’s next Windows Mobile handset the HTC Touch 2 (formally HTC Mega) will be available from the 21st of this month.

Here’s what we know already:

- It runs Windows Mobile 6.5 technology (The most advanced windows mobile technology)

- TouchFLO 3D technology

- 2.8″ touchscreen

- A 3.2 megapixel camera with fixed focus (but no flash)

- GPS

- Bluetooth and WiFi

- MyPhone software (to store numbers, contact details, messages and other info online to Microsoft’s back up server)

- MicroSD slot

One thing that is certain is the HTC Touch is made for Web browsing. Web pages are rendered in a format similar to a computer, making for easy reading. The browser also supports Flash, enabling video streaming and downloads.

Windows Marketplace will provide application downloads straight to the homepage via both 3G and WiFi, and the TouchFLO technology offers simple navigation and widget placement on the homescreen.

Over all HTC seem to have made yet another impressive budget phone, but we’ll be able to tell you more after we’ve had a play.
