The Handsets That Got Away

Published October 7, 2009 by Harriet Rhodes in Mobile Phones, News

Last week Andrew gave us a round up of exciting new October handset releases, we’ve since got wind of a couple more release dates.

HTC TattooHTC Tattoo - HTC unveiled the Tattoo or Click at the beginning of last month. This Android Powered handset is targeted at the lower end of the market, offering an affordable Android experience. It’s got HTC Sense on-board, which HTC claim offers plenty of customisation so the user can really make the handset individual. The 2.8″ touchscreen provides more than enough viewing space whether it’s for images captured on the 3.2megapixel camera or the live social network and weather feeds. The handset’s already avaiable for pre-order on Vodafone and is expected on Orange during the week of the 19th October.

Nokia N97 Mini – It wasn’t long ago that we heard rumours of a late October release forNokia N97 Mini the N97 Mini, not a lot has changed except we’ve found out that during the week of the 26th October both the Black and Exclusive White handsets will become available.  The Nokia N97 Mini offers a comprehensive inventory for business and social networking. A follow up to the N97, it is a smaller, compact version of the original with the same features but smaller price tag.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X2Sony Ericsson X2 – Successor to the Xperia X1, the Sony Ericsson X2 retains the original design, but has had major work done inside. It runs the much anticipated Windows Mobile 6.5 Operating System, which looks great on the 3.2 WVGA resistive touchscreen. A reliable source has pointed towards a November release, possible during the week of the 16th.
