People who are fed up with paying ridiculous rates to speak to friends and family overseas will be happy to hear a new service has jumped on the International calling bandwagon, promising some of the best prices around. FooCall supports a number of different methods to make International calling. Users can make calls via their existing home and mobile phones or over the Internet using a web phone through the FooCall website.
It’s a very simple concept, users put credit onto their account and can start making calls. But surely that’s exactly the same process as most calling services out their, so why change? Well, FooCall is boasting some pretty impressive International rates, some of the lowest on the market in fact, for example an International call to an Indian mobile will set you back £1.5 p/min on Vodafone, 4.7p p/min on Skype and just 2.5p p/min on FooCall.
Graeme Hutchinson, co-founder of Ghost Telecom, the company behind FooCall offered the usual marketing spiel ”Some of our customers have used services from VoIP providers before, while others are wedded to their home phone or mobile. While they all want to save money when calling abroad, our experience has shown us that this is often made unnecessarily complicated through downloads, installations, set-up etc. FooCall requires no new hardware and no real change in behaviour. We offer very low international call rates and keep the whole thing simple. That’s good for all our customers.”
As with every good (and sometimes bad) idea nowadays, Apple has managed to get hold of the app rights. The FooCall app for the iPhone’s currently available to download from the app store and means cheap calls can be made straight from the phone, without the needing aWi-Fi connection.

Easy to use iPhone app but needs updating with new designs. Rates are also really cheap and no need for wifi connection which is unheard of for an international calling service on an iPhone.
Really good app. Downloaded Foocall app a few weeks ago and I’m still using it unlike many other apps that just get deleted. Foocall provide me with cheap international calls to most of the destinations that I want to call and the others aren’t too bad. The app is really easy to use but the most important thing is its free.
