Samsung Divas Hit the Catwalk

Samsung has officially announced the new Diva collection in time for 2010. The Koreans are hoping to strike it lucky with the ladies with the new Samsung S7070 Diva and Samsung S5150 Diva Folder. The company hope the glamorous collection will worm its way in to the must have fashion accessory list next year, as well as nabbing a place in the girls phone must haves.

The S7070 Diva is the girl’s version of the Galaxy – intergalactic missions for the boys, quilted back covers for the girls, stereotype much? The trackpad in the middle has been swapped for a ‘gem’ and as mentioned before the back has been given an embossed quilted cover. So it’s pretty, but one handbag essential that seems to be missing is the all important mirror, surely they haven’t left that out have they?

While the outside screams luxury, the inside is more middle of the road, networking fiend. There’s a 2.8″ QVGA resistive touchscreen to harass, 3megapixel snapper, all the usual media options and a microSD card slot to boost the memory. The S7070 works like most Samsung handsets, TouchWiz is onboard as well as a couple of added extras. There’s intense social networking integration for Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, a ‘Wish List’ app – which basically organises your shopping, and a ‘Beauty Effect’ for the camera, which enhances your images, providing a simple solution for those bad hair days.

The next handset to hit the catwalk is the Samsung S5150 Diva Folder, which is essentially what is says – a flip phone for girls. The features are very similar to the S7070, apart from a slightly smaller screen and less connectivity options, something I doubt the fashionista’s are that concerned about.

Sibling rivalry is here in abundance. The S5150 is without doubt the attention seeking of the two, flaunting embossed silver casing – again quilted with a hidden LED display, which will light up when ever it receives calls or messages. If you want to be really flashy you can set it to show the time.
