Versace Begin New Phone Partnership

Published January 20, 2010 by Luke McKinney in Mobile Phones, News

Versace & ModelabsVersace have decided that they’re fashionable enough to brand beyond clothing – they’ve already released make up, and the only objects potentially smaller and more expensive than cosmetic kits are mobile phones. You can bet that Donatello Versace will capitalize on that potential (though you’d need at least two extra digits after your balance to make a bet she’d notice).  The designer has entered into an agreement with expert French elegance fabricators ModeLabs to create the “first” line of luxury Versace phones, so exclusively fashionable you need to know French to even read the press release.

For those who purchased previous Versace-ized phones like the Samsung SCH-E500 or the Nokia 7270 it’s a bit of a slap in the face – or would be, if they could afford to besmirch Mister Versace’s gloves with their workmanlike skin. Be assure that the new phones will redefine exactly how expensive anything can be, occupying that rarefied bracket where you buy a phone purely for looks because it’ll be someone else’s job to answer it.
