Sony Ericsson has deployed its comeback plan and is following it with military precision. First it was the X10 announcement, now the next big hitter for 2010 has been officially revealed, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, formerly known as the Kurara. There’s not a lot that we didn’t already know about the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, but today’s announcement has confirmed previous HD suspicions, that it will support 720p HD video recording and playback and also that the rumoured specification was pretty much bang on.
The main things you need to know are:
It runs on Symbian open OS S60 (5th Edition)
The CPU clocks at 720MHz
There’s an 8GB Memory card to bulk up the 75MB internal storage
3.2″ resistive display 640x 360 resolution
HD 720p video capture and playback
8.1mp camera with LED Flash
3G with HSDPA and HSUPA
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack and Micro USB all feature
In keeping with the new Sony Ericsson repertoire, the Vivaz has been built with user comfort in mind and features the human curvature design, which means the phone itself has been sculpted to fit snugly into the human hand.
