Google’s wannabe super-phone launch was plagued with problems, not least among an inability to get fast help when you hit problems. These teething troubles were artificially inflated when annoyed users didn’t get replies to repair requests quickly, and – obviously being the sort of people who spend time online – wasted no time in complaining in every comment-box they could access.
The result was negative PR backlash against what was expected to be the tech-nerd’s wet dream. Googling might fix most problems, but it seems even Google think that’ll be too slow for many in this case, as they’re now offering live phone support for Nexus owners. This is all actually great news for eager UK customers anticipating the launch later this year – letting the US market make all the mistakes means a better-supported product when we get it.
