Quick Tips for Improving Motorola Droid Battery Life

Published March 18, 2010 by Kathryn Vercillo in Motorola, Tips & Tricks

One of the most frustrating things that happens with mobile phones is that their batteries run out too quickly. Luckily, there are always some little tricks that you can implement if you notice that your battery power is getting low and you need to preserve some of that power until you can get to a charger.

On the Motorola Droid, the trick is to deactivate the programs that are draining your battery and that you don’t need at that moment. To change your settings and deactivate some of these programs, you will need to go to add a power control widget to your device. Do this by going to the MENU button then selecting “add widget” and select the “power control” widget.

Once you have access to this widget, you can easily turn different things off and on or change their settings so that they don’t drain the battery so much. For example, you can adjust the brightness of your screen; a darker screen drains the battery a lot more slowly than a bright screen. You can also use this widget to turn off Wi-Fi, GPS and Facebook syncing. This can save you precious talk time when you’re away from a charger.
