Modular Mobile Integrated Into Laptop

Published May 18, 2010 by Luke McKinney in Articles, Computing, Mobile Technology

ASUS and Modu are combining their powers and you should be excited, unless you don’t like the idea of a slick mobile phone built into a portable computer, in which case you’re really on the wrong page. ASUS build high-quality computer components, with a recent stress on netbooks, while Modu make modular mobile phones: the resulting hybrid product aims to integrate a phone into a laptop, eliminating at a stroke every connection issue you’ve ever had – and well in-tune with recent reports that people use phones for data far more than for speech.

The Modu will have a custom dock in the computer, automatically connecting to act as a 3G connection.  It’s also aimed at the fashion conscious, as the cute mini-phone’s cover can be completely replaced from a wide selection of shells.
