Nokia has announced that their flagship Eseries handset, the Nokia E7 will be hitting shop shelves in early 2011. The news comes after an earlier tweet from a company account pegged a December release date meaning that those wanting to get their hands on the QWERTY slider will now have to wait until the New Year.
The announcement will no doubt spark a sense of déjà-vu across the smartphone industry as the Nokia N8 also took the rocky road to release, though the manufacturer has revealed that their reason for holding back their upcoming business device is due to a “minor durability issue” discovered in the E7′s hardware. Well, we can’t argue with that!
While we don’t have a specific release date to mark in our calendars just yet, UK network Three has announced that it will be carrying the 4 inch AMOLED handset in Q1 and tech retailer, Expansys has also advertised an availability date from January 10th.
Nokia may have missed the Christmas shopping rush but the E7 is likely to fit in well with the impressive range of smartphones lined up to kick start 2011.
