HTC could be all set to release a 10 inch tablet according to a roadmap leaked onto the web. The revealing information is training material for US retailer Staples according to Droid-Life who managed to get their hands on it.
The roadmap mentions several tablets we’ve already heard about including Samsung’s 8.9 inch Galaxy Tab and the “BlackBerry 7″ which we presume is referring to the PlayBook. It also states that 10″ tablets from Dell, Acer and Toshiba are “coming soon.”
While the leak doesn’t provide any details or a release date for the mystery HTC device, apart from that it will be a 10 inch job and run on Android Honeycomb, this could turn out be the manufacturer’s big money tablet. HTC has managed to generate a fair bit of interest in the 7 inch Flyer, announced at Mobile World Congress last month, although it isn’t the most high-tech device in the tablet bunch right now with Android 2.2 Froyo and a single-core 1.5GHz processor.
We haven’t got a clue as to when HTC will lift the curtain on its Honeycomb tablet, but if it’s going to take on the likes of the iPad 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, we’d imagine the Taiwanese firm would want to get it out fairly sharpish.
