The latest addition to the iPhone 5 rumour pile has arrived in the form of cases designed specifically for the incoming Apple smartphone. Although we’ve heard rumblings that the next iPhone would have a complete redesign, these cases show that very little has changed in the looks department.
Online supplier Alibaba has already started listing the products, even though the iPhone 5 announcement is a good few months away yet. Based on what we can see here, the cases could just as easily fit an iPhone 4 as size and shape wise, we can’t really see any changes. The same slots reappear for the SIM card, camera, headphone jack and sleep/wake button too.
We’re not sure whether to believe these cases have been designed specifically for the iPhone 5 but considering that the leaked sketches of said device that we saw last week showed very little had changed with the design, they could be genuine. Apple resource 9to5Mac also pointed out that Alibaba started selling iPad 2 cases before the tablet was announced and they were spot on with that one , so we could be onto an winner here.
Whilst this news might add some weight to the arguments of those saying the iPhone 5 won’t get a complete redesign, there’s nothing to indicate that it won’t get an edge-to-edge display or a dual-core processor. We’ll keep you posted.
