An image of an as-yet-unreleased Motorola 7-inch Android tablet has been spotted on the web, leading to speculation that the device could be being lined up as a scaled down version of the Honycomb-powered Xoom.
The leaked shot comes courtesy of gadget site ThisIsMyNext who were supplied the decidedly blurry image by an anonymous tipster. Whilst the pictures fail to give too much away, a logo not dissimilar to that of Motorola’s can be seen vaguely on the upper lefthand side of the device.
It is evident however that the tablet is noticeably slimmer than its predecessor and if ThisIsMyNext‘s assumptions are accurate, sports micro-USB and micro-HDMI ports.
The site also surmises that owing to the placement of the Motorola branding along the top edge of the slate, the device is to be used in portrait orientation.
No other spec details were provided but its a safe bet that the 7-inch tablet will run a version of Android following Google’s recent acquiring of Motorola Mobility.
Word on when consumers will be able to get their hands on the this new Moto on shelves was also unforthcoming but Motoorla CEO Sanjay Jha has previously suggested that it plans to release a new look Xoom successor later in the year.
