Another Nokia Windows Phone Identifies Itself, it’s the 710

As Nokia World rapidly approaches, we’re seeing more and more information appear regarding the Windows Phone 7 handsets expected to be announced there. Last week an advert for the Searay was spotted, which could also be known as the N800 or the Sun, and the week before the Sabre and the Ace were hinted at too.

Now we’ve got another, the Nokia 710. The new device showed up on Nokia’s own developer page, but has subsequently disappeared, however MyNokiaBlog took note of the complete spec list attached to the device beforehand. Oddly though, the 710 isn’t named as a WP7 phone, but as a 2008 Maemo Internet tablet! We’ll ignore that for now…

So what can we expect from the 710? The processor will be a 1.4GHz Cortex A8, the screen a 3.7-inch 480 x 800 pixel resolution panel and the camera, a 5 megapixel item with a 28mm wide-angle lens and 720p video recording. Other specs include a 125 gram weight, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal memory and it’ll use a micro-SIM card.

The 710 is also listed on a game developer’s site showing which games are running on which devices, where it sits alongside the ZTE Windows Phone device, the Acer W4 and the Nokia Searay.

This suggests the 710 isn’t yet another potential name for the Searay, but it could well be the official Nokia model number for the Sabre, which matches the above spec. On that subject, a 1.4GHz A8 processor is something of a rare beast, with that speed being more common on the A9 SoC; so either the processor type or the speed could change before release.

Nokia World begins on the 26 October and Dialaphone will be in attendance to see exactly what is in store.
