A new HTC smartphone has been leaked, and despite it not boasting a massive screen or ridiculously powerful processor, it has the potential to become quite a success after it has been released.
Named the HTC Primo, it is rumoured to have a modest 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a protective Gorilla Glass panel, however it’s not known what resolution it’ll display. It’s also said to feature a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM. Not too shabby, certainly, but not quite up there with the HTC Ville or recently spotted LG X3.
So what is there to be excited about the Primo, then? Well, unlike almost all the new phones seen at CES 2012 at the beginning of the month, the Primo will have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich installed right from the start, so no need to wait for an upgrade. Of course, HTC Sense will be installed too.
That’s not all either, as HTC could be adding Beats Audio technology to the Primo, although there’s no indication it’ll come with a swish pair of Beats earphones just yet.
A 5 megapixel camera will sit on the rear of the phone, and thanks to a low f-stop rating of 2.0, it should return excellent low-light shots, plus a dual shutter function will let you take still pictures at the same time as recording high definition video.
We’ve yet to see a picture of the Primo, but are hoping more details will emerge over the coming weeks, and that the official announcement will arrive at Mobile World Congress in February.
