Samsung and Rovio are to unveil the new Angry Birds Space game at this year’s South By Southwest (SXSW) conference.
The latest iteration of the Angry Birds franchise was initially revealed via a NASA broadcast from the International Space Station (ISS), with the SXSW launch to include hands-on demos featuring the Galaxy Note handset.
As an official launch partner for the game, Samsung will have exclusive content for its Galaxy devices. It is not yet clear as to what form exactly that content will take, but with a launch date of 22 March, users will not have too long to wait.
The news that Samsung’s ‘big’ announcement is centred on an Angry Birds launch has angered a number of bloggers, who were hoping for a more substantial launch at the event. Rumours that the conference would see an unveiling of the Galaxy Tab 11.6 or even the Galaxy SII have proved to be incorrect, but hopes remain high that these devices will make a public appearance soon.
