The phone formerly known as the HTC Golf, then the Wildfire C and now the Desire C has become one of the most often leaked devices of 2012, being spotted in a press shot, a real-life hands-on picture and even via a weird photo taken with the phone’s own camera.
This has confirmed the Golf will be named the Desire C, meaning it won’t be continuing the Wildfire name – in Portugal at least, things could still change elsewhere – but will instead adopt a moniker previously reserved for the Taiwanese manufacturer’s upper-range Android smartphones.
The leaked specification says the Desire C will have a 600MHz processor, a 3.5-inch screen with a 320 x 480 pixel resolution, a 5 megapixel camera, GPS and 4GB of internal memory.
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be the operating system, and looking closely at the new picture reveals Beats Audio branding on the rear panel too.
There isn’t much we don’t know about the Desire C now, so all that’s left if for HTC to make it official and provide a release date. Surely this will be the final leak before this happens?
